Political Discussion
|
I am VERY impressed by the CPD Superintendent, Eddie Johnson. His press conference today was superb. His comments were spot on. He didn't sugar coat anything. He said what needed to be said.
He has a very tough job. Crime in Chicago is too high. My favorite comment he made, as he looked at all the reporters who showed up for the press conference ... "Looking out at the crowd, I wish that the families of gun violence got this much attention." I also like when he said, "I only hope that the truth about what happened gets as much attention as the hoax did." |

He is mentally ill. Who on earth would do this? |
As was previously stated, they hate anyone who dares to disagree with them or presents a different POV. Especially when that POV makes far more sense than what the liberal is pushing. They *really* hate that.
Not the answer you were fishing for, huh? |
+1,000,000 Best post I’ve ever read. Thank you. |
wow Jeff actually makes sense for once |
No one is wasting a million words on David Duke or tucker Carlson or Laura Ingram or milo Yiannopoulos or even Bannon anymore. Because they aren't president. |
I have to take Jeff's side with criticism on this thread. I rarely agree with Jeff, politically. But, if you check the first page of this thread, he was skeptical from the beginning. I was the person who posted the message that said, "Now might be the time to wait for the full story and investigation. Did we learn nothing from the past couple of weeks?" It wasn't long after that when Mr. Steele expressed his skepticism. This issue should NOT be political. Crime should NOT be political. But, unfortunately, it is. It has come to the point where people take sides to defend or condemn a criminal act depending upon which side of the aisle you are on. This has been going on for a while. It did not start with Trump's election. But, it has become worse. I think most reasonable people can condemn Mr. Smollett for what he did - regardless of where you stand politically. And, most have. I realize that Smollett, himself, brought politics into this by making the claims that he did. And, I think most reasonable people know that the vast majority of Trump supporters would never dream of committing such an act. And, I think most reasonable people can strongly condemn the Coast Guard officer who is a self-described white supremacist - regardless of which side of the aisle you are on. We should be thankful and grateful to LE for doing a fabulous job of taking this guy into custody before he could act on any of his plans. Crime is crime. It doesn't have to have a political side. |
An unintelligent, greedy, narcissistic actor on drugs.....that's who. Why would you immediately jump to mental illness? Oh that's right, so you can be an apologist for his behavior and not hold him accountable. Honestly, you're as big a jacka** as Smollett. |
Coherent much?
|
Yes. The motive was financial and political and he is STUPID. Worst details of a plan ever. He planned it specifically to target white men and Trump supporters and get more money. He probably has a personality disorder but isn’t mentally ill. I think what is disgusting is he thought the press and Hollywood would protect him. He thought nobody would investigate him and he’d get a fat pay bump and a bunch of awards for being so strong and as a nice bonus more ammo against Trump for 2020. |
I'm unclear on how my post is incoherent. I just reread it and it seems pretty clear. |

If you believed this unquestioningly when it first came out, or the Duke lacrosse team, or the UVA fraternity/Rolling Stone story, then you should ask yourself why.
|
The prosecutor in the Duke case was dirty and lied repeatedly to the public about facts of the case. It is not surprising that many people believed the lacrosse team was guilty. |
+ a million. |
