Why wouldn’t the administration tell the students if it was a drill or not?

| Oh, my kid said she was in class. I heard someone say they heard on police scanners they are looking for 2 males last seen in the RM parking lot -- don't know if that students or not. So it may be something in the community that caused the school to lock the doors so no one comes in to hide there. |

Not sure I understand the question. Parents are not informed of every drill. When the school goes on lock down, information comes from our students more quickly than it comes from the administration because we all have mobile phones and are connected all the time. I suspect information will come from the administration within the hour. The fact that nothing is in the local media suggests the rumor above about the police looking for suspects is likely. |

Didn’t they go into lockdown a few months ago when there was the carjacking at Town Center? Maybe something similar. |

| Yes, the school may go into lockdown if there is a danger in the nearby community. It has happened before. |
