Single Issue Voter: Controlling The Borders

Most concerning to me about the open borders:

1. Massive increase of child rape/sex trafficking…
“Sound of Freedom” opens today at local theaters. Am guessing it’s appropriate for mature high students (but not younger), and only if they’re interested.

2. Flood of fentanyl across America. Soon we’ll *all* personally know someone who was poisoned to death from fentanyl.

Yes, there have been years and years of backlog. Why hasn't the GOP, when the had the house, senate and white house, done something about it? Why haven't there been any bi-partisan bills to address the issue? Because the GOP wants people like you to remain angry rather than solve the issues.

As to the bolded, they can only get asylum if there is threat from their home country, but there has to be an adjudciation around it, no one can just "grant" it at the snap of a finger. But there is a backlog and a need for more admininistrative judges to hear these cases. And again, the GOP has blocked funding to clear this as well.

So sure, be angry at Biden who has been in office for two years and has done more to address the issue than anyone in the last 5 years while also falsely claiming "oPeN BorDers" :roil:

You don't only get asylum if you fear your own government. Asylum law has morphed to where you can get asylum if a boyfriend/spouse has ever hit you, gangs robbed you and you think the police don't do anything, or if your gang member cousin gets killed and the gang threatens the rest of your family.

I love that you took the time to explain this to them but they don’t understand complex issues. And while this seems simple for us to understand, they can’t deal with the complexity of government operations. The fact that their party can hold up judges that would solve the problem just doesn’t penetrate their brains. Everything is supposed to be quick and easy and black/white, good/bad to them.
