Are you really losing weight eating 1200 calories a day? Goal weight is 115.
49 years old. Scale is only going up. I’m tracking but nothing. I think I need to eat closer to 1000 calories a day? |
Yes and start exercising |
Midget checking in! |
I strength train 3-5 days a week and walk. |
Yes,
Water water water Exercise OP make sure those 1200 calories are good ones. Real food. Stay away from things like Lean Cusine or meal prep kits. |
I'm 5', now at 117 or there abouts. At my heaviest, I was 127. I'm 52 now.
I naturally have done the IF thing most of my life. I stop eating before 7, and I have also cut back on how much I eat for dinner. My DH made a comment about how my portion size was getting smaller as our teen kids portion sizes are getting bigger. I eat the most between 11 and 4 and reduce caloric intake, but I don't generally count calories. Too hard to keep up. I have also been doing yoga for an hour or so while I watch tv rather than just sitting idle while watching tv. Also, go for a walk or eliptical for 20min minimum. I'd love to get down to 115, but I don't think I can cut back much more without becoming a raging b1tch. |
I have mad respect for you 5"1 and under ladies who stay fit. The amount of calories you get to eat would turn most of us into raging b****s. |
I walk 2-3 miles about 6 days per week. I don't eat past 7:00 generally, my portion sizes are small, although I do like one beer or a glass of wine 3-4 nights per week. I work out with a trainer 1x per week. I'm 5'1", 52, and post-menopausal - I've gained 5lbs in the last year!
I think I need to be far more careful about carbs and probably alcohol too, otherwise I'm going to look like Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. |
I'm 5'1.5" (we all know that every smigen counts in this range!). Fluctuate a few pounds around 105. I usually don't eat breakfast, I eat junk food all day (cookies, ice cream, etc.), real luncn weekendsd and maybe 1-2 other days a week, and a normal dinner. Don't exercise much but I walk as part of my daily life--I used to work out like crazy but it doesn't actually effect my weight so I'm over it. Honestly, a lot of it is luck/genetics, which is frustrating, but I don't want to starve or deprive myself anymore. |
how old are you? |
Scale goes up with perimenopause and lower estrogen production. Doing the same things are no longer working. I recommend the book Next Level by Dr Stacy Sims. She recommends heavy lifting (not the 3-5 lb ones!), plyometrics, and high intensity exercise. I have found that doing the heavy lifting and interval training helps me keep the pounds off. Also follow someone like Susan Niebergall on social media for great exercise and nutrition advice. |

Wow, I am 5ft 2in and 140lbs and I love that I have a shape. I can’t imagine being lower. When I was 110, I looked like a crackhead. |
1. you are not 5'1" and not the target audience. 2. not everyone is created the same. When I was pregnant with a 9lb baby, I hit 130lb, and believe me, I was not starving myself 3. I looked good at 103b. If I weighted 140lbs I'd be considered obese and super unattractive. |
same girl! and i’m barely 5ft! anything under 135 looks sickly on me. |
