No one defended them and basically everyone wants them to resign. There is not much anyone can do about Northam if he doesn't willingly resign because under the description in the VA constitution an old picture doesn't really meet the requirements for impeachement. Everyone is saying he should step down.

Northam is, IMO, dead in the water in any political future.

I think Fairfax will be impeached once an investigation happens.

I think Herring should resign but we haven't even seen the photo for him right? He has self admitted to making a mistake in his youth and apologized. Again, what can we do if he doesn't step down?

All three are done in the long term. But I don't see how you illegally remove them from office. IMO if the Fairfax rape accusation holds water he should go to jail. I think there are no clear paths forward with the Virginia situation without a willingness to resign.

This is why no one has impeached Trump yet, its a high bar and its not just personality based. Overturning the will of the voters is a BFD.
