People who have refused to watch the Jan. 6 hearings

I was at the pool today and heard a woman from Canada ask a guy she had just met who is from the US if he watched the Jan. 6 hearings. He said no and then went on about Nancy Pelosi, blah blah blah, I couldn't even hear it all, but he's not the first R I've known of who had lots of excuses for not watching. My cousin said he didn't watch because he thinks it's all so one sided.
As a Democrat I pay attention to almost everything the Rs come up with through different news sources, hearings, etc. I don't refuse to watch because I may not agree with what they are saying or doing. I'm wondering if some Republicans can tell me the logic in paying no attention to what's going on as if you already know everything about it. It's unlikely you know any of the truth about it if you refuse to watch, to see what the police officers experienced and what the actual insurrectionists testify as to what happened, to see the video and testimony as to what Trump said and did during the insurrection, and you only know what your conservatively biased news outlets are reporting and what their right wing talking heads' opinions are. |

Not a republican but I haven't watched them either. I already know Trump is guilty and those storming the capitol will get off with little to no consequences (except that guy last week). Why waste time watching them rehash what we already know to be true?
On the other side of that coin is republicans who known darn well what happened and they are willfully turning a blind eye to the hearings so they don't have to face their own hypocrisy about not actually wanting democracy or supporting the police. |

My great grandfather, a German, believed until his death that there were no concentration camps and it was all a lie. It made no difference how many people told him they were imprisoned in one of them or how many photos you showed him. He said they never existed.

I haven't watched a minute of it.
You are seeing what they WANT you to see. You are not seeing the video of the people who walked leisurely into the Capitol, welcomed by Capitol police, then charged with trespassing. You are not hearing about the discussion of the National Guard days before this event nor are you hearing anything about what Pelosi didn't do to secure the Capitol. You are not witnessing any cross examination of the witnesses to see if their stories are consistent or even valid. Because - there is nobody there to cross exam because Nancy, the tyrant, changed the rules and dictated who would be on this rogue committee. There is no real investigation of the FBI's role - we know there were agents in the crowd. The man you overheard was correct. This is a one-sided circus and not worthy of my time. |

| I haven’t watched a second of the hearings. I did see the Jan 6 circus live on TV as it unfolded last year. Never voting for a Republican ever again in my lifetime. |

I was 8 blocks behind the Capitol on Jan 6 and fled to my sister's house in NoVa when I heard the gunshots.
PP 20:29 who thinks it was (in one breath) no big deal/an FBI set up/Nancy Pelosi's fault/they're all lying: How does it feel to have your head so far up your ass you can't actually think anymore? |

I wasn’t aware a lot of people are watching the actual hearings. No one has talked about it IRL. Maybe it’s because everyone I know is so busy with work and kids. If I have limited time to watch tv, it’s going to be lighthearted.
I read the news online and read discussions here. |

| I dont watch it. But, Im very familiar with what happened, have talked to CP officers that were there, and also to another group responsible for the security of the facility. My view is that the actual event as it unfolded, and how the security infrastructure did and didnt work is extemely interesting. But the hearing isnt about that. Its about whether Trump incited the event, which is a totally different topic. Im republican but will not vote for Trump again unless put in the position of needing to choose between Trump and Biden. The Biden WH encourages people to harrass Justices at their homes and a Justice was nearly assassinated. Neither of them are good candidates. I dont need to waste time being further convinced of Trump's unsuitability for office. |
