48 female, I just want to lose 10 lbs, and I want to lose it fast. You all are going to tell me there’s no magic and I need to watch calories and cut out carbs. But I want that immediate loss and then I’ll switch to that mentality. What should I do? Keto? Paleo? WW? I need a plan-I don’t stick to it unless I have a solid plan, with meals written out. What’s worked for you? |
Honestly? The Bring It On plan -
Think of what you ate yesterday and cut it in half. That’s a diet. In other words, portion control. |
Cutting carbs and calories *will* result in immediate weight loss. |
What do you mean you want to lose it "fast"? As in you need to fit into a bikini next week type "fast"?
Hitting anaerobic levels of cardio helps, but don't fool yourself by overcompensating by eating and putting back all the carbs and calories you burned off. With any diet + exercise you'll see "fast" results. It's not too hard to shed water weight and feel inspired to cutout junk food that first week and lose a visible 2 or 3 lbs . Same going into week 2. You'll plateau for a solid 2 weeks and furing that time youll feel grumpy, annoyed at how stubborn your body is despite your self discipline and consistency, your body is sorta hitting the reset button as it acclimates to your new lifestyle of portion control and vigorous daily exercise. |
starvation except water will get you there quickest |
Op here-would like to lose in 4-6 weeks |
Yeah, I’m not really sure what else you think you can do. 10 lbs in 4-6 with a drastic carb plus calorie cut is doable. But you’ll gain it back |
Agree on low carbs, higher protein. No sugar, no dairy. Plenty of water. You can also drink unsweetened tea, or black coffee.
Breakfast - eggs, you can add in vegetables Lunch and Dinner - lean protein and lower carb vegetables: chicken with broccoli, cauliflower rice and grilled fish, zucchini noodles and shrimp. Green salads with lemon juice/sea salt. I really don't think it's going to be easier to maintain once you lose it, but good luck to you. |
Low carb and only eat two meals a day and no snacks. |
Depends. If you weight 350 lbs it will come off faster than if you weigh 140 |
The one that keeps your in a caloric deficit. |
I am a 47 yo female who lost 13 pounds in about two months earlier this year. Here is what I did:
1200 to 1500 calories a day. Decreased carbs. Little to no bread or pasta. Added higher protein foods. Little to no snacking. No handfuls for goldfish crackers for example. No finishing food off my kid's plate. Cut sugar and milk from my coffee. Measured my food. For instance, if adding quinoa to my lunch, I read the calories per serving on the package and measured out what I actually added. You'd be surprised how many calories you can add by increasing the serving size by accident. Also eased up on the weekend. I allowed myself a few fries or a glass of wine. This helped me stay on course during the week. Yasso frozen yogurt bars as a treat during the week. Drank more water. Walked more and added some mileage to my running routine. It's possible that some of that weight could be water weight, and once you change what you eat, some of that will come off easier. Good luck! |
I just ordered Now brand Glucomannan. I've used it for one day and I will say that I've been able to reduce my portions without feeling hungry. I've taken it for two meals. Could it be placebo? Maybe, but it seems to be helpful in reducing calories. |
