21:39 again. Posted too soon. Lots of interesting information in this article. |
Not the PP, but some context is needed. Coy Barefoot has been the best source of information on this case by far. This post is about what LJ was doing in the hours before he left the restAurant with Hannah. |
Thanks, PP. Having trouble posting from phone |
This was excellent indeed. Thanks Coy Barefoot, whoever you are. |

I think he is a local historian, very well-known in Charlottesville (which explains why so many witnesses shared their stories with him). |
Oh so horrible! If that was me, "Abby", I could not sleep and would be wrecked with guilt, that I didn't intervene and try to talk to Hannah, who to "Abby" was very intoxicated, could hardly stand, and left with a guy who had been rough and physical and obnoxious... oh man... |
Oh my god. The timeline is heartbreaking. |
I cried twice this morning driving to work hearing about her on the radio and being a cold raining day and all ![]() |
Two completely plastered strangers walk off into the night together, one, a young, naive co-ed, the other, an older, sexually aggressive creep. No one connected the dots at that time that she desperately needed help. How tragic.
How could've this been avoided? Perhaps more active police presence on the downtown mall and they would've seen the poor intoxicated Hannah and whisked her off to safety (overnight jail for being drunk in public)? Perhaps those two gals should've complained to the bar manager about Matthew's sexually inappropriate behavior and he would've been kicked out onto the public street and thus also eligible for DIP? I don't know. Whatever the case, I hope this is a wake-up call. |
I posted in the other thread as well: this timeline article makes JM sound like he may be on the spectrum.
Truly: what 30+ man doesn't know to keep his hands to himself in a bar, late at night with women? The article paints him as very odd. |
I can't believe that I have spent the past two hours of my evening reading/investigating everyone's links, but my God this story has so many offshoots and terrible possibilities! The Cory Barefoot link above is excellent, and the below timeline about Jesse Matthew's whereabouts for the past several years is also very good. I suggest anyone interested to look up the links to other missing Charlottesville girls to better understand some of the dates on this timeline: Originally Posted by shutterbug22 View Post Here is a start to a timeline... I think they are lying since he bought two drinks. One for him and the other for Hannah. Also since she did not seem that drunk on the videos and the person at the bar said she could barely walk when she left with him that last drink must have put her over the edge, whatever was in it. Tempo will be closed down over this. Guaranteed. |
WHAT? As the mother of a child with an ASD, I'm really offended by this. My DC is a teen and knows not to behave this way. Sexual aggressiveness is not a spectrum trait. of course its possible for someone with an ASD to behave this or any other way, but this alone is far, far from enough to say he has an ASD. Please, have you never encountered drunken grabby men before? Its sadly not that odd. Yes, it sounds like he was on a tear. But there were men just like him in bars all over the country that Saturday night. |
I can see how one more drink would put her over the edge. In one video she stumbles, we know she was confused and disoriented and she let a stranger put his arm around her. She was clearly already quite drunk. Sadly, I don't think tis that unusual for a UVA student to be stumbling drunk. Have you ever been in Georgetown and seen Georgetown students on a Saturday night? |
