Celebrities and Politicians we suspect are narcissists.

Could not agree more. There are almost no politicians on a national level that are worthy of idolization.

+1 I think we'd all be happier and healthier as a country if we stopped worshipping politicians and saw them instead in more practical terms. I worked for the least powerful member of Congress for a year and even HE was a raging narcissist. They all are. They're often charming, too, as many narcissists are. And if you don't have to live or work with them you may even think they are normal humans capable of normal empathy.

Well, he thinks he's some kind of Scientology Messiah. If that's not an overinflated sense of self-importance I don't know what is.

And he's a control freak

Agreed. Of the people listed, the only ones I think might actually be narcissists are Donald Trump and Tom Cruise. Most of these women celebs are being pegged as narcissists because they get a ton of tabloid and other media coverage. I feel like people don't understand how the media machine works for women in Hollywood. Many of these women are minimally involved in their own press coverage -- they have teams of people who leak stories, handle their endorsements and commercial deals, leak locations to paparazzi, etc. Like Megan Markle and Taylor Swift and Jennifer Aniston aren't sitting in their enormous homes watching press coverage of themselves and calculating how to get more attention. They are working or enjoying being rich people and are often trying to avoid press exposure as much as possible. But they have full-time staffs whose job it is to manipulate the press in order to hold public attention, because that the best way for these women to make money. The more famous they are and the more people are talking about them, the more music/movies/tv the sell, the higher the can charge for endorsements, the better their producer gigs, etc. It's literally the job. Yes, maybe insecure attention-seekers are more likely to pursue that career, but that's not what a narcissist is. You all are mad at these women for being famous even as you consume their fame as intended.

+1000. The only people here I really agree with are Trump and Cruise.

Taylor Swift stays in the media complaining and playing a victim. She’s always the victim and she’s always very vocal about being a victim. She loves people to support her victim hood. Her most recent, complaining about a joke made on a Netflix show then sending her minions to cancel the actress.

Symptoms
Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance.
Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration.
Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it.
Exaggerate achievements and talents.
Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate.

Btw, why wouldn’t his kids love him? Kids love their parents, sometimes even when they are abusive. Also millions of maggots love him like a father figure.

1) Meghan Markle needing and using her title
2) Meghan Markle expecting special treatment from the press and royal family. Clearly needs admiration - tries to portray herself as a modern day Mother Teresa. Constantly releasing SJW videos.
3) See #1, also needs her son to be a Prince
4) Talks about how she gave up her career to be with Harry. Uh huh. A third rate show on a 4th rate network that was coming to a close and she wasn't even a main character.
5) Meghan2024, she's actively trying to get Feinstein's seat in the Senate and she wants to run for President in 2024

.

I see. He is a narcissist because you don’t like his religion. (I would argue that he actually IS incredibly important in Scientology)

I do in fact have a problem with dangerous cults. But the cult didn't make him a narcissist. He was sucked into it BECAUSE he's a narcissist.

I don’t know quite how to classify Tom Cruise, but I will never be able to shake the fact that Katie Holmes’s attorney father had to maneuver essentially under the cover of night to extricate her from that marriage with their daughter. Forget all these other celebrity lawyers, I would take Katie Holmes’s dad over them any day.

I have thought both were sociopathic for several years, no joke.

The intense spin from j lo and a rod about how they are "putting the work in" and the enormous push to show us all how fabulous their clothes, homes, children, power, and careers are, seems nauseating, has been for years and is unlike any other pr machine most of us have ever seen. Completely over the top..We are all now apparently supposed to feel impressed and admiring that this 45 and 51 year old with 4 marriages between them are pulling back to try to work it out, like it's this wonderful achievement versus what mature adults do in real life. And what both have taken decades to learn. Nothing is real unless it is in the public domain...I can't stand her especially. She posted pictures of her daughter crying from the breakup and spinning it that her and her ex were wonderfully present.

She was miles away on zoom filming her movie. Most parents would feel pain and anguish that their child is in pain, from their choices, and would then naturally focus in to repair. She dabbles in that and then goes into full on pr mode, like it really really matters at all what the rest of us know about their relationship drama....and he has to hustle, and publicly repent for humiliating her. I find their exhibitionism and preening exhausting. And she is a slow learner in this regard. Same dynamics at 51 that she was doing at 21. Same impaired judgment in men, same low self awareness. Thank God they are trying to be better...it's about time.

Narcissists often do only begin to see themselves (if ever) in midlife when their personal losses start to add up. And even then, it will be a long road. And most will never do the deeper work, which would take years.

They say that Fergie used to work with Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffery Epstein to lure young girls. Fergie had to do something to keep the income flowing, and keep Andrew happy.
