I don’t think Meghan Markle is a narcissist. I get why people think that, because she has a very measured, calculating way of approaching her public image that can come off as disingenuous. I found the Oprah interview fascinating because it was so carefully orchestrated to do exactly what it did, which then leaves you wondering if it was a trick.
But I personally think she’s genuine— I think she loves her husband, that she wasn’t anticipating the level of vitriol in the UK press or the weirdness of the BRF, and that she has struggled with mental health as a result. I think she is just also a very guarded person who is sharing this info because she knows it’s the best way to control the narrative about her. It comes off as calculating (and is) but I think reflects her real experiences. I don’t think that makes her a narcissist. Huh, I had more MM thoughts on this Saturday morning than I might have expected! |

I agree --all of them. My entire career has been working for politicians in a non-political role. They are different from you and me. Every single one of them I've encountered. |

My DH can’t stand her. I find her a little over the top sometimes but he absolutely loathes her. Thinks she’s super fake and trying to come off like “just a regular girl!” even though obviously she is not average or regular in any way. He has a thing about people downplaying their assets or good fortune to be likable. I get it, but she doesn’t bother me. But I have a similar thing with Taylor Swift. Her appearance and demeanor read 100% as “rich mean girl from high school who made fun of other girls for having the wrong clothes” so when she’s like “I’m just a nerd hanging out with my best gal pals!” who all happen to be rich, famous, and equally beautiful, I get ver triggered. |

| Almost all politicians are narcissists, especially the more prominent they are. That’s why I don’t get why so many people worship these people who do pretty terrible things with no issue sleeping at night afterwards. |

Yeah, my impression is that his kids aren't very bright, so they rely on their dad's support for their own career success, or careers at all. If any of them had been born to a normal family and had had to hustle after college to find, secure, and keep a job on their own merit, they would have nowhere near the "success" they have thanks to Donald. |
