This is so true. Lazy, dependent, grifter, incompetent, bad parent - no work status, parenting status, adult age group nor gender has a corner on this market alas.

I don’t think being mean, rude, condescending about parenting has anything to do with whether parents work or not. It has to do with parents’ personalities and character. It sounds like your friends are just judgmental and insensitive jerks. Which they would still be whether they were SAHMs or WOHMs.
