I'm anticipating that once tryouts resume at clubs there will be alot of movement before the fall starts. I think with the circumstances clubs should understand..

Depends, some will reason with you and some will refuse to release your player card.

This is why they are trying to get parents to commit before tryouts open up. Our deadline to commit to the 2020/2021 season is June 1

Our club gave us several weeks. Our last club apparently is giving their members 48 hours (so happy we left, couldn't imagine dealing with that right now).

In past experiences, I didn't have to pay anything. I lost my deposit but my kid was in a better situation and that was years before COVID. If you leave before the season starts you should be fine. Most rosters for the fall season don't even open until August.

It does sorta depend on a few things--obviously the purpose and blah blah blah. But yeah, clubs can be deceitful just to lock you in. Some are good, some aren't.

good point. I think the last thing is it just looks bad if you plan on returning to them in the spring or following year. Stay on good terms...
