| Yes. I think their racist against white people because they are not a protected color of people. |
R's would hire for profit prison corporations to run education camps. |
+1 Just picking this comment out to say that we're missing an important point in the cross-fire. You can't add the data on Asian students to "cancel out" the narrative here. The interesting thing is with the data is the difference in behavior + disciplinary decisions when you break the stats out by race. This shows some combination of differences in socio-economic background, behavior, and bias in the classroom. There can be bias toward minority students, Hispanic and Black and Asian, without all those biases being the same bias! People bring their stereotypes, cultural expectations, and prior experiences into situations. Throw in a little confirmation bias and viola! |
We should look at the most glaring bias, that against boys. You can't actually think that boys behave differently than girls right? Or perhaps different groups actually do behave differently. Crime statistics once they leave school certainly support this view. I'm sure you think it's "bias all the way down" though. |
Sure, adding gender creates another useful layer. Look at all the characterizations in this conversation. We've got everything from "URM students who always underperform, what do you expect?" to the assumption that it would be out of character for an Asian student is misbehave. There's no way that bias isn't part of the story. Not the only part, but it is a part of it. |
