Every single law clerk for every Supreme Court justice she clerked with that year. ALL of the clerks for all of the justices. Every single one. |
Yale accepts 10% of its applicants while ND accepts 36%. ND is not a top 20 law schools. ND is clearly a second-tier law school. |
That was before it came out she belongs to a cult - something she has hidden from people over the years. If nominated, former members of People of Praise will testify as to how her membership in that group disqualifies her from being a Supreme Court Justice. |
Is that because ivy leaguers represent every day Americans? She is a bright, experienced, cute, and a mother of 7. None of those on the Court. We need some diversity. Go Barrett. |
Way to dodge the question: where did YOU go to law school? Because again you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about when it comes to law schools. Acceptance rates only tell part of the story. |
Oh, please. You’re just an anti-Catholic bigot. Besides, this did come out, the New York Times reported on it before she was confirmed to the 7th Circuit. |
I am Catholic. Also a lawyer. I think it is crazy that she belongs to this organization and understand why she tried to hide it. Also - to the person arguing that ND is just as good as Yale and that admissions rates don’t tell the whole story. ND is second tier. Everyone knows it. Even the pool of applicants is much weaker at ND, let alone the acceptance rate. Doesn’t mean that ABC isn’t smart, but her legal education was at a second tier place. |
Who cares what kooky cult she's in. What is her judicial record? What fresh hell will she wreak on this country? |
You're funny. I AM Catholic - by my own choice actually, as I converted before I got married. The cult she belongs to is NOT mainstream Catholicism. And they are frantically trying to scrub their records of her and her husband's and her father's and his father's membership. But it's not going to work. Mark my words - if she's nominated, it's going to get really ugly. |
It's ugly already. It's going to get worse and worse and worse. She is one of a bunch of horrible candidates. All of them are awful. Democrats will stand up and fight this time. It will be very very ugly. |
The last thing we need is a nutcase who took an oath to put her religion above the laws of the ountry. Frankly, she should be recalled from her current position for that. |
I highly doubt Trump is going with a Catholic, much less a female one from a second rate law school. Trump wants a justice from central casting that looks the part, has a gilded degree, is male, Protestant, and loyal to him. |
Troll |
Former Catholic/pro-choice person here as well. I feel squeamish about calling it a "cult" and suggesting that anyone's creed disqualifies them from public office. But asking her how her religious beliefs impact her decisions is totally fair game, given that she has WRITTEN LAW REVIEW ARTICLES saying that Catholic judges should recuse themselves from certain cases. I think that's different from focusing on the aspects of her faith that seem different to us. |
The Democrats will oppose anyone who Trump nominates. If he nominated a clone of Kennedy, they would oppose him. |
