I agree with you on illegal religious tests. However, Coney Barrett *wrote an article* about how Catholic judges may have to recuse themselves in matters of faith. She literally wrote that "we believe that Catholic judges are morally precluded from enforcing the death penalty." A supreme court justice is selected based on the opinions they write, not their grades or clerkship. That's the starting point of a career, not its pinnacle.

I have a lot of reasons not to like her, but her intelligence and academic bona fides are not one of them. She's clearly an extremely intelligent and accomplished person, likely moreso than the average Yale grad.

The bar exam is not a measure of brilliance. It’s a measure of studying. The most brilliant attorney is not passing the bar without studying for it. A dumb attorney can pass the bar with enough studying and preparation.

Well, neither is acceptance to Yale or Harvard. And, FWIW, a brilliant attorney would know to prepare for the bar. So, I guess you agree that HRC is not brilliant.
