I took it as being more critical of Jonas’s appearance than Chopra’s. She’s gorgeous, he looks like a teenager. |
*rolls eyes* Miss me with the racist crap. We all know India and Bollywood in particular is racist as hell. |

I think she's desperate to stay in the US because Mumbai isn't a comfortable place for her to be, anymore. Rumor is / allegedly she had an affair with Shahrukh Khan (who is married, and arguably the most powerful and successful actor in India -- perhaps even the world; his fanbase is huge). Allegedly, it ended poorly after she apparently went too public about it. And allegedly, her career opportunities started drying up very rapidly.
So, to the US she came. This engagement news was broken by the director of a film that was supposed to be her big Bollywood comeback, in the same tweet he announced that she would not be doing his film. I honestly don't think that Hindi cinema is a possibility for her, now she's crossed one of the Khans. And I think this engagement news is a nice way of saving face for her having been shoved out of her supposed comeback. Honestly, there are SO MANY talented actresses in Hindi cinema, but I've never thought she was one of them. I wouldn't mind seeing Aliya Bhatt or Konkona Sen Sharma in some Hollywood stuff, though -- those ladies can ACT. |
I saw the director's tweet about her no longer filming Bharat and I was so confused. Like what does her being engaged have to do with filming in September and October of this year?? Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her ... Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life ??? Yet, a producer on the same film called her unprofessional for pulling out with only two days notice? So which is it? You think she was pushed out by the director who didn't tell anyone else to save face? |
What’s wrong with the actresses we have here already ? Bollywood is garbage by the way |
Priyanka chopra is dull, manipulative and full of conceit . I mean what it is about her that we’re suppsed to embrace ? I’m a minority , though hard to prove on dcum and I can’t help but chuckle at an Indian complaining about racism . The country of the caste system has no lesson to give to anyone and the same could be said about Iya immigrants to the United States who for the most part do their best to perpetuate that retrograde system . Celebrities are polarizing by nature , any adult should know that . |
+2 I have no idea who she is...nor could I eve name an other Ms. Universe or World or even Ms USA.. I cant even pronounce her name. Definitely not a household name. |
I think you are spot on. He looks like a kid she's babysitting for the day. The pair is just odd. I'm sure he's probably nice and maybe she looks past his childish dress style because of this but seriously just looking at them together is awkward.

That whole union screams fake or scam |
Caste is not even a word in any of the 20+ Indian languages. It's a Portuguese word. It was formerly abolished legally in 1949 after India got it's Independence from the British. Let's put this in perspective-- the Civil Rights Act here did not even occur until 1969. While there are still some that inherently are "caste-ist'' and backward, just like Trump's America here are racist and backward, that does not define all 1 billion Indians or all of India. If that's the case, then all 300 million Americans must all be the same too. And since American people come from the land of guns and mass murders, they should never complain about guns or murders either. |
| I see so many obviously PAID for articles about her - particularly on yahoo sites. Things like ‘every time pryanka chopra was STYLE GOALS’ and then of course tons of stuff about her relationship. It’s ridiculous. I’d never heard of her before this and TBH her desperation makes me dislike her. |
I'm not the PP you're responding to, but are you saying that it's ok to be racist because you think people in India are, too? I guess there are more #MAGA/Trump/white nationalists on DCUM than I thought. |
Again, I don't understand t his line of argument. You're saying "other people are racist, so it's OK for me to be racist, too". *Read through DCUM - people on here hate Indians, not just Priyanka Chopra. FWIW, I agree she's a terrible actress. |
I'm not surprised she hasn't made it. Unfotunately there are so many pretty girls in hollywood that are younger and better actresses. |
|
1. She's pretty
2. She's has "made it." Being a working actress for nearly two decades means you've made it. No, she will never be a household name. 3. She is HOME. She's legally worked and lived in the U.S. for nearly 20 years. If she decides to live and work elsewhere so be it but stop the "go back" nonsense. |
