A family of 6 and just one large pizza?

And we're Catholic, which I add because I totally do not get the posts about religion having anything to do with pizza eating???? Please explain.

I was raised Catholic. Growing up, Fridays were meatless. We'd have fish, or tuna cassarole or pizza on Fridays.

Literal LOL

I've never heard of the green beans poster...but I can bet you she's not fat!

At least it's not the "chicken marbella" poster.

I never understand comments like this. How do you know it is the same poster? And, what is the big deal either way?

NP I think. Though I have commented on Chicken Marbella before. Lighten up! Remembering things is how we create community, epic threads and a collective memory! Fish maw!

My thought, too

+1 I went to a nutrition class that taught me that the appropriate serving of pizza for an adult is 1/3 of a slice. People eat too much pizza.

Well now that's just ridiculous! My debate with myself when eating a frozen pizza is whether I should eat a third of it at one sitting, or half. Dilemma! Thankfully I don't eat pizza much.

One third of a slice..
One third of a slice..
One third of a slice..
I hope that was just a typo,and you meant 1/3 of a pizza,because
That's way too small.

One slice of pizza is 300-400 calories. The average moderately active adult female should take in about 1500 calories a day. You do the math.

Moderately active adult women need about 2000 calories per day. 2 pieces of pizza = 600 calories. Sounds about right for dinner to me, perhaps a little under, but supplementing with veggies is a good idea.

I have 2 teen boys. They EASILY eat a large pizza each. One is 6'3" and 170 and thin as a rail. The other is 6'4" and a brick house at 190. Both play varsity sports and workout 6 days a week. Jo way in hell could all 4 of us share a pizza. My sons are consuming about 5k calories a day

Middle aged people should not compare themselves to athletic teens. The average American should be satisified with a slice of pizza; although, if we are eating for nutrition and sustenance, we probably wouldn't be eating pizza.

Clearly, but this is a parenting message board and the question was about families that include children living at home.

And I easily eat 4 slices of pizza. 42yr old 5'10" 145# female. I count calories to stay thin and maintain at 2200cal. Nothing wrong with a 1200cal meal. I skip breakfast so that many calories in one meal is not unusual for me.

I wouldn't boast about my disordered eating on dcum. I don't believe you eat pizza, much less 4 slices.

My brother could have eaten a whole large pizza by himself as a teen but my parents would have told him to buy it himself! They weren’t poor or cheap, just didn’t think a whole pizza for a teen was a good idea. We also had salad, vegetables and fruit. Sometimes they’d get breadsticks with the one large pizza we’d all share. What a treat that was! Modern Americans are stupid with their food choices.

I am 5'1, 103 lbs, and a couple weeks ago I ordered a large pizza for dinner. Kids decided they didn't want it and my husband began barfing from norovirus between ordering and delivery. There was nothing else to do. I ate all but 2 pieces myself.

I'll admit I should have stopped at 4 and not pushed it to 6 but they were so good ...

I did not immediately get fat.

Lol! What is disorder about my eating? Do share. I'm intrigued.

I’ll eat two or three pieces of pizza (from an 18” pizza, so supersized slices), a salad, some fruit and, yes, green beans. Not fat. What’s with all of the green bean hatred? Maybe you’re not making right?

I love green beans on my pizza
