I am a wasp and this was my first thought. I'm guessing you are Jewish or Catholic.

Literal LOL

I've never heard of the green beans poster...but I can bet you she's not fat!

Thinking back to my 70s childhood, you are right, when we got pizza, 1 slice was all we had per person and all we expected.

In our family only two kids still live at home and one pizza is absolutely enough for four of us. No soda, just sparkling water. Someone makes a salad. There are always between 1-3 pieces left over.

The idea of eating 3-4 pieces in one sitting seems gross.

My thought, too

+1 I went to a nutrition class that taught me that the appropriate serving of pizza for an adult is 1/3 of a slice. People eat too much pizza.

A blanket rule lime this doesn't really make sense. Not only do adults' dietary needs vary quite a bit due to diffences in age, sex, height, activity level, etc., the nutritional value of a slice of pizza (or a third of a slice of pizza...) varies quite a bit, as well. A slice of pizza that is 1/8 of a 16 inch deep dish pepperoni pizza with extra cheese, for instance, will have a lot more calories (& , most likely, saturated fat) than a slice of pizza that is 1/8 of a 12-inch thin crust margarita pizza.

Well obviously pizzas differ. But it's a pretty good rule when you're eating a standard slice from a 16" pie. The point being, if you're eating 3 slices from a regular pie and you're not burning calories at the level of a professional athlete in training, you're probably eating way too much.

I had 4 slices of pepperoni last night and no where near overweight. Get a grip. I just don't eat this way everyday.

Let me guess, you've never been around teenage boys, right?

Well now that's just ridiculous! My debate with myself when eating a frozen pizza is whether I should eat a third of it at one sitting, or half. Dilemma! Thankfully I don't eat pizza much.

Yeah, that 1/3 of a slice seems off. 1/3 of a frozen pizza is typically a serving size with about 300 calories. But 1/3 of a slice of delivery? At kids' birthday parties and sports the slices are often cut in half. They're small. I can't imagine 1/3 a slice satisfying a teenager or adult, even with salad, veggies, etc.

Exactly.
FWIW, we ordered pizza last night and my husband and I both ate cabbage-lime slaw with it. The kids had celery and carrots though normally they have peas wth it. All those carbs and cheese...gotta have veggies too.

Pizza used to be expensive. Dominos, Pizza Hut. They were pricey restaurants back then.

It's not anymore, thus the change.
