I have 2 teen boys. They EASILY eat a large pizza each. One is 6'3" and 170 and thin as a rail. The other is 6'4" and a brick house at 190. Both play varsity sports and workout 6 days a week. Jo way in hell could all 4 of us share a pizza. My sons are consuming about 5k calories a day
Middle aged people should not compare themselves to athletic teens. The average American should be satisified with a slice of pizza; although, if we are eating for nutrition and sustenance, we probably wouldn't be eating pizza.
Clearly, but this is a parenting message board and the question was about families that include children living at home. And I easily eat 4 slices of pizza. 42yr old 5'10" 145# female. I count calories to stay thin and maintain at 2200cal. Nothing wrong with a 1200cal meal. I skip breakfast so that many calories in one meal is not unusual for me.
