Thinking back to my 70s childhood, you are right, when we got pizza, 1 slice was all we had per person and all we expected.

Did you grow up here? If you didn’t you have no idea what you were talking about. I’m 49 and grew up in Chevy Chase, with an accountant dad and a SAHM. We went out to dinner a couple times a year and hardly ever got takeout. My dad drove a ‘68 VW Bug into the late ‘80s. It wasn’t Appalachia (where my grandmother grew up, so I know) but people weren’t necessarily swimming in money there either.
