Rockville HS Rape & Impact on Sanctuary City? Procedures in MoCo?

Will a supporter of the MCPS policy to enroll 17-21 year old recently-arrived illegal immigrants in 9th grade at a regular high school please explain the rationale?

Reality check: who enters 9th grade at age 17-21? Special needs - this would be known to the school, and presuming a reasonable decision-making process about whether regular high school 9th grade is the right place for the student. Who else could this possibly be? I want numbers from MCPS on how many non-special needs 17& up students are enrolling in 9th grade.

I think these are people with fifth grade educations and no English. They are guaranteed an education. The alternative is they repeat senior year an infinite number of times. There needs to be a door three, like show them the door. And an alternatve school for older "children" (18?????) here legally who need this kind of massive remediation AND enculturation, such as how to not rape.

Exactly.

This whole "let's turn a blind eye to all the problems with illegal, undocumented citizens" is going to make the D's continue to lose voters.

Country does not need people that need enculturation to not rape in a first place.
There are plenty of potenciial immigrants from all over the world that share western values and would love to live in US.

It's hilarious to hear the supe say "it's not only the right thing to do, it's the LAW [that we let illegals with no papers enroll]."

Sanctuary cities/counties telling us how much the LAW matters! Too funny.

More pupils = more school funding. Period. End of story.

My spouse and I were talking. If our daughter had been raped like this young girl (people are calling her a young woman - she is not - she is a girl), I truly don’t know what my reaction would be. I think someone would have to restrain me. And, to think that it would not have happened had these young men NOT been in our country would be something I would yell from the streets and to my representatives.

The bottom line is that this young girl will have to live with this for the rest of her life when it could have been avoided if these men were not in her school and in our country.
That is what I would be unable to overcome.

I pray she gets the help, the counseling, and everything she needs to live a fairly normal life. The poor child.

Well said, PP. I just cannot get over how horrible and disturbing this is. And don't say that illegal immigrant is not the issue. IT is very much THE issue. IF the policies of encouraging illegal immigrant (catch and release!! educate all new comers!!) are not here and this terrible ordeal would not have happened. I have a DD, it is sickening to think that she may not be safe in her public school.

Completely agree with both of you. And what gets me are the people who say, "This girl could have been raped by anybody! It's irrelevant that they were illegal immigrants," I say B.S. What a profoundly moronic "argument." No one knows if she would have been raped by a U.S. citizen had these thugs not done it. But if they hadn't been here, at least THEY would never have had a chance at raping anyone in the first place.

Illegal immigrants are here ILLEGALLY. Anyone defending their presence is simply saying it's fine to break the law.

This is what Maryland has come to... MoCo public schools used to be a model of an extraordinarily well-run school system. Now we have active MS-13 cells in the schools, police officers dedicated to schools, and now this horrific rape. We need to clean house in the next election. The very fact our state government seeks sanctuary status for the ENTIRE STATE is a slap in the face to this girl, her family, and all the other victims of crimes created by these illegal "students" Not to mention, geographically, the state is mostly red, its the citizens here in MoCo, PG and Baltimore that create this nonsense and force it on the whole state. Guarantee if these guys pulled this crap in Western Maryland they would end up buried in a strip mine and no one would say a word.

I cannot believe the legislators did not delay this for a bit. Such a slap in the face to the victim just 4 days after the incident. And before the Smith even spoken on it.

Looks like Hogan has already said he will veto it when it comes to his desk, so at least someone has some sense of decency.

Hogan appears to be the only politician in MD with any common sense, and yes - sense of decency.

And democrats actually think they're going to win seats in the next elections?

Lol. They're stuck in their little bubble.

Now, what is the point of keeping him in the country other than eventually getting one Democrat vote? Isn't all that money and one girls' life a high price for electing a Democrat?

This is exactly right. I was wondering how much money will be spent defending this guy in court, keeping him locked up, mental evaluations, interpreters, etc. Why isn't he simply deported, and his country of origin stuck with trying and jailing him? Why are we paying all of these costs? Complete insanity.

Why? Because Maryland voted for Democrats. It is like a bumerang, will come back and hit you hard.

What I don't understand, why are Maryland parents not standing day and night in front of the MCPS office demanding to remove all illegal students right now? Why the principal of the school feel it is OK to make a statment that they are not allowed to inquire about legal status fo the student. They surely allowed to check student's residence. And last, but not least: where are all those thousands of woman with pussy hats to defend this little girl?

That's exactly right, ladies. Get out those pussy hats and demand safe schools for your girls (and boys!).

we need more illegal aliens to pick lettuce and keep the prices cheap. no limits to immigration, no wall, no enforcement of simple laws like eVerify. that is crazy talk by racist people.

DCUM parents do not care if low skilled workers lose jobs and wages due to lots and lots of immigration. we have seen that in hundreds if not thousands of posts on this site.

So if illegal immigration negatively impacts other low skilled workers that did not have the advantage of a college education , well that is their fault. Not until it affects their sheltered world.

f'cking entitled hypocrites.

Agree. I just keep asking why is that girl. Why not Sasha or Malia? Why not a child of one of the Democrats who supported that decision? Why not the child of the official in MCPS who approved the policy on admitting illegal students? Why?
