Why the principal of the school feel it is OK to make a statment that they are not allowed to inquire about legal status fo the student. They surely allowed to check student's residence. And last, but not least: where are all those thousands of woman with pussy hats to defend this little girl?

That's exactly right, ladies. Get out those pussy hats and demand safe schools for your girls (and boys!).

There seems to be a pecking order of concern for liberals and illegal immigrants trump all others. Thats my take. Had it been a UVA or Duke student that did this guessing the hats would be on and the crowd gathered. Prayers for this girl. Profoundly moved and disturbed.

we need more illegal aliens to pick lettuce and keep the prices cheap. no limits to immigration, no wall, no enforcement of simple laws like eVerify. that is crazy talk by racist people.

DCUM parents do not care if low skilled workers lose jobs and wages due to lots and lots of immigration. we have seen that in hundreds if not thousands of posts on this site.

So if illegal immigration negatively impacts other low skilled workers that did not have the advantage of a college education , well that is their fault. Not until it affects their sheltered world.

f'cking entitled hypocrites.

Agree. I just keep asking why is that girl. Why not Sasha or Malia? Why not a child of one of the Democrats who supported that decision? Why not the child of the official in MCPS who approved the policy on admitting illegal students? Why?

Does bozo superintendent jacko smith even HAVE any children of his own?

He can have these illegal men go to night school.

Those who come here primarily for WORK, should be satisfied with expansion of the guest worker Visa program so they can send money back to their families. Industries (agriculture, landscaping) should focus on this solution, thus "picking lettuce" legally. But more effort and money to house and host guest workers legally.

In addition to implementing everify, the local governments should start charging these employers (who abuse the system to hire cheap labor) with the local infrastructure costs born by we the taxpayers.

I would gladly pay more for my head of lettuce than watch my tax bill climb each year to pay for all these folks. Cheap labor is not cheap for me!

Goosh . . . I am not a fan of the current administration but this rape plays right into their racist narrative. This case will be a turning point for the country.

Personally, I do believe that older students be educated in separate adult education systems. I thought this is what happened in the 70s and 80s. When did the tide change?

When a UVA lacrosse player killed someone, there was no movement afoot to deport all upper class whites, or all who attended UVA.

No one is defending the alleged perp. They are responding to the attempt to use this politically against an entire class of people.

Sounds like your concern is with the economic effects of immigration (which, BTW, are contested) not with this rape, which you are using for your economic agenda.

BTW, are you actually from the DC area?

NP here. Yes, as long as middle-class DC folks have access to cheap nannies, and cheap labor to clean their homes and to flip their houses, they will not understand. It is not their problem. It is so said but true. Take a look at the scheduled playdates at the local library. Yea, it might be in the middle of Takoma Park, Petworth, Columbia Heights, etc and theoretically be open to all . . . but who attends these events?

Why is just now? How about hundreds of other girls who were killed or raped by illegals? How about that 2 y.o. kid who was just raped in NY by the illegal who was deported 4 times? This case is just a tip of the iceberg that previous administration denied to look at.

You missed the point of my post. I wasn't staying that as a justification but fact. I don't use a nanny, cleaner, or cheap labor.

Well, I'm concerned about these crimes in general- they're not somehow worse if committed by 'illegals.' And by the way, they commit fewer crimes than US citizens. So save your faux outrage. http://thehill.com/latino/324607-reports-find-that-immigrants-commit-less-crime-than-us-born-citizens

The city councel and mayor are just grandstanding for votes. I think enough reasonable people press them to say "no" now.

True. Most of us aren't willing to sacrifice our daughters.
