People on this thread trying to put down Blair are beyond pathetic. Using TJ or Blair as some kind of referendum on housing prices in nova and moco is idiotic too. The magnet program at Blair is outstanding and so is TJ (which is a whole school magnet so as others point out, any comparison between the two SCHOOLS rather than just the magnet programs is trumpian nonsense). Basically, it comes down to you've got a bunch of very smart Asian kids in both nova and moco (harhar). I doubt the idiots trying to put down either of these schools would ever have had the brain wattage to get into either program.

and that creates greater interest among the investors.

So why are SAT scores going up in NoVa and down in MoCo? I know a few schools like Wootton are largely Asian but it seems like there are more Asians in Fairfax (over 207,000 per 2015 Census estimates) than in Montgomery (about 148,000). I hope those "international investors" in MoCo don't get burned.

What are the sat scores for the top 4 schools in MOCo and Fairfax? Be interesting to compare.

Because it is a large magnet, TJ has a bigger impact on the test scores of other schools in FCPS than the Blair/RM magnets have on the scores of other schools in MoCo.

Those are pretty impressive scores on both sides of the river. Average isn't great, but the top 5 in each county are pretty darn good. Yorktown and George Mason are suspiciously absent from the list on the VA side though.

As in the word: "investor" does not mean they actually live in a house. Homes are bought en mass
and rented out to anyone, not necessarily Asian ethnicity tenant. And yes, just as you are looking for good schools, they do to keep the value of the investment. Will they burn out? They follow the market, and if the market will move to different urban areas from DC area then so will they. For now MoCo it was.
