I think it would be sad because it really does seem like she still does love him, but had to divorce him due to his addiction issues. She had to make the affirmative decision to give him up and grieve him one, and now she may have to do that again. It would be brutal for anyone.

There is only so much you can "be there" for an addict before you stray into enabling territory. Just because someone distances themselves from an addict when the addict is in the throes of it doesn't mean they aren't waiting on the sidelines to help them get clean if they want it.

This whole mess makes me think about all of the incredible people who are fighting for their lives (with serious medical conditions, for instance) and here we are being fed non-stop coverage about some dude who senselessly threw his life away. I'm over it.
