The addiction is not intentional, that is a chemical reaction in response to the INTENTIONAL use of drugs. It's not spelled "biotch" btw. Even if you were trying to avoid using the actual word, the correct form would have been "biatch". LOL at you thinking the use of illegal drugs isn't intentional. Are you on drugs yourself?

Stop. You're embarrassing yourself.

I disagree....I think you need help if you think using drugs like cocaine is not an intentional choice. He is not hooked on pain meds that he had to take for a condition. It's cocaine. Wake up. I'm worried for your children if you have any. Try not to let them "accidentally" get hooked on cocaine.

How do you know he was not prescribed pain medication to deal with a condition, became addicted and then turned to cocaine because he can't get the meds anymore.

Do you know if he suffers from depression? Do you know.. NOBODY know how to treat depression and anxiety. NOBODY, they give you something and it might work, maybe not, so try something else... my bad.. that didn't work either.

His mom died when he was 12.. 12... 12 years old.

WTFF is wrong with you.

I've been through depression that was severe enough to land me in the hospital, in handcuffs, because I came very close to suicide. I never used drugs like that. Depression is not an excuse, or at least not a very good one.

I won't even bother explaining it to you all because it will never change your attitude but I come from a community where drug use is the norm which results in single or no parent households, lots of free time at a young age, no direction and not knowing a different life, and you also have the genetic component as well as the societal implications. Its just a different world that most of you will never know...consider yourself lucky.

I do come from white privilege but I am not as stupid as the woman responding above and we not all that ignorant, she is embarrassment to white privilege. She does not understand how much was given to her, how little adversity she had to deal with growing up, how little resilience she has ... and when shit hits the fan, and it will, lord help her.

Why bother to put your two cents in on a discussion that you so clearly know nothing about? Do you think your opinion is that important that we all must hear it?

Sorry I hit a nerve, but I didn't say anything that is not true. You just prefer no-one says what most people here are already thinking. I've tried cocaine once in my life, and I've dabbled in other recreational drugs when I was younger.. I was fully aware of what I was doing. Thankfully I was smart enough to not try it again. I'd say I probably have more experience with it than you. There's another 2 cents for ya, cha-china! Please tell me some stories of people you know that accidentally snorted coke. They must be very interesting to hear.

You are a self righteous idiot. I am not the PP you are responding to but I think she hit a nerve... you so want to just believe everything is in your control.... good luck with that and your lack of compassion, it will be returned to your 10 fold.

Lol ok...since you said so. Strange to get so upset over someone that you don't know. Go ahead and live your life thinking people accidentally use cocaine. No-one is stopping you.

Don't give me your sob story... you chose to act out and be handcuffed and taken to the hospital .. maybe you should have done more meditation, it would have controlled your depression. Don't use depression as an excuse for your bad behavior. You are just full of excuses and refuse to take responsibility for yourself. Did somebody make you act out, did they take your hands and make them so dangerous that you HAD to be handcuffed.

+1. This poster's lack of compassion is appalling. I also think she must be very young or very sheltered because most people grow out of such black/white thinking as they gain more life experience.

We are talking about a 35 year old FATHER. A once gifted athlete, reality t.v. show star, celebrity in the spotlight who had *70K* to spend on a weekend getaway involving hookers, drugs, drinking and more. You so want to see this guy as a victim of circumstance but he chose to go to the Love Ranch. How can you not see that? And what about HIS kids who now have a physically (and probably mentally) incapacitated daddy? Do they now have an EXCUSE to become addicts too? If that is the way you see things you should do everyone a favor and keep your GD sympathies to yourself.

I actually said depression is not an excuse. If you knew how to read you would have picked up on that. What a dolt. Please wipe the fog off your eyes before you type random nonsense next time.

As good as an athlete as he was, Lamar's problems have been with him for a looooong time. He was busted in college for soliciting a prostitute, and has a long track record of such behavior. As much as these people love to defend his addiction as if they were his actual family, we all know they would never want their kids to be friends with him if they were in school together. If he wasn't an NBA player you would just write him off like all the other black addicts that are homeless on the streets right now that also had traumatic childhoods. I'd wager if one of them came up to you on the street you would turn the other way.

"These people?" Not sure who you mean but I'm black and I don't write off Lamar's pain and addiction or that of anyone regardless if he or she is a black addict or a white addict. You'd lose that wager.

New poster & definitely no addiction specialist but she's not actually wrong ...... it's hard to accidently use illegal drugs the first time. You make a decision to do so.

Why do people keep bringing up illegal drugs. You do know people become addicted to pain pills, alcohol, and gambling right?
