She didn't go into the men's changing room because she is not a man, she is a woman. Same reason I don't go to the men's changing room. |
+1. If you need to be that sheltered, then stay at home. |
^^^given that nobody would be seeing anybody's genitals. |
Everybody...how am I supposed to know that? Me? Absolutely! If everything was single stall that would be separation in itself, no need to separate any further. Of course there would need to be some "single" stalls large enough for a parent with children that need help changing so I think additional family changing rooms would still be useful - you would not be allowed to enter them without children, only adult supervising children would be allowed using them. I think that would work. The problem with this is that the system in place would need to be removed completely first. That is a lot more work and much more expensive than just adding extra changing rooms would be my guess. |
What gym are you going to? I have four 24 hour gyms within 1-2 miles of my house in the suburbs and they are ALWAYS packed. I hardly doubt there is some conspiracy for men to pose as transgender in order the rape women. There are a lot of other things I would worry about before this even made my list of concerns. |
Because it hasn't caught on yet. The awareness about transgender people is relatively new. The communities are slowly growing, people learn more, it's more present in every day life, schools etc. The day will come when criminals catch on to the chance and take it. It's only a matter of time and once the first one does it there will be more. Just like with transgender people. One started. Then more came. Now there are many open about it, talking about it, being in the media etc. It will happen. |
Yes, but if there is no harm in viewing men's private parts, why couldn't she go to men's room? Seems like no harm would be done for her. |
Women have been sexually assaulted by men for a very long time, well before there were things such as locker rooms. I'm pretty confident that if a man wants to rape a woman, he will figure out how to do it without having to pose as a transgendered person at Planet Fitness.

The day has long since arrived when criminals assault transgender people in bathrooms. |
Are you a woman? Why don't you go to the men's changing room? |
Wrong. S/he thinks it's a woman. That's a mental disorder, trying to be corrected by PCB. |
But my point is that most gyms are way too crowded for a rape to take place in a locker room. In fact, most public places such as restaurants, shops, etc. are fairly crowded and have people going in and out of the bathroom. If there is a tucked away bathroom that does not get much foot traffic, then there really isn't much to stop a man (dressed as a woman or not) from trying to commit a crime there. It's probably a good idea to just be vigilant whenever you're in a secluded place, but I don't see why this should preclude equality for those who are not gender conforming (keep in mind many people have ambiguous gender due to chromosomal issues). Should they be forced to hide at home because you are scared of some hypothetical crime that doesn't seem to even be a widespread issue? |
What are your medical qualifications? Also, referring to human beings as "it" is really offensive. |
Why make it so easy for them.

What are yours? |
