okay so let's get this right. we should ban anyone who has touched a sick person who isn't a citizen.

. No temperature does not equal no virus in his system. He wasn't tested for the virus upon departure, only temperature. He had the virus.

you can't detect the virus in someone's blood until they show symptoms.

He stopped to help a pregnant women to the hospital, not knowing that she had ebola.

Cite, please.

See the LA Times article posted at 14:48.

And there are just as many other news article that state he knew she had ebola. So that's not a dependable cite.

And neither are the ones that state that he did know.

All we know is that he helped a gravely ill pregnant woman. Whether he knew or suspected she had ebola will never be known for sure.

I'm going to choose to judge him based on what we know he did (helped a gravely ill pregnant woman) rather than what we can only speculate about.

it is correct - there is no ability to detect the virus in the blood until someone has symptoms.

From WAPO:

Dr. Amesh A. Adalja :

During the incubation period, the levels of the virus of the blood are very low. Viremia--the amount of virus in the blood--is correlated with the development of symptoms. When virus levels are detectable that is when symptoms develop.
