We have a telework agreement, but the agreement is wr don't get any.

I didn't agree to no telework, but I wasn't offered an option to telework.

So if you TW you don't get credit for those hours?

I'd just take the unscheduled leave and call it a day just because of the stupidity.

They are allowed 80 hours of situational telework per year, and this will count as 8 hours of that.

That's a you decision and you get to deal with the implications.

Its below 20 until Sunday.

Further evidence you should have "chipped" your car out a few days ago. Be a grown up.

Do you actually expect to be off work until Sunday?

Not the PP and my car is cleared but are you really clueless enough to think Feds haven’t been working? Most of us are required to be telework ready during weather events. Maybe you should focus on your own job or lack thereof since you are posting during the work day about things you don’t know about.

Calm down, Karen.
You weren't working Sunday and you weren't working 12 hour days since then. Since you didn't have a commute you had extra time to dig out.

Get a job, Kevin.

Umm, no I didn’t have time to dig out the numerous side streets I need to drive to get to work.

I get 5 days of telework a year but there is nothing that says this would be one of then.

I just got an internal message saying several streets around our building are partially plowed or not plowed. Sorry to all those who have to go in. Sounds like an unnecessary fiasco.

Do it and ask for forgiveness later.

Name the agency. Or a lie.

I wasn't lying.

OK - final call for Wed. The government will be open, but with a 1-hour delayed start time and with the option for unscheduled telework or unscheduled leave. We realize that many of you are dealing with highly different conditions depending on where you live. The DOTs understand that there is still work to be done in some residential areas, but are continuing to make progress. We encourage all employees to reach out to their managers to discuss a telework option as needed to ensure everyone's safety. The official notification will be posted on the
@USOPM
site shortly.

This is unfair! Kids’ schools’ are closed for the whole day!! What are we supposed to do here??!?

I work at an agency that allows limited telework (but more generous than many) and we were given specific guidance that unscheduled telework does not count towards our limits. It has a different code in our payroll system and is counted separately. I also manage people in a different location and they were given emergency telework which is a third code in our payroll system and also doesn't count towards our limits.

Are you at a Commerce agency? Weather related telework is separate and unlimited.

WTF. Why are posting on Musk’s social network first rather than an office Federal resource.

Because Musk's social network has more credibility than the federal government, obviously.

It's his personal account, not the OPM account and it's apparently much quicker than waiting for OPM website to post for those that need to make plans.

Telework or take leave?

My site outside the Beltway is not even offering telework as an option. Yesterday it was open and I got special permission to telework based on conditions while my spouse watched the kids, but I won't get away with that again, so I'm taking leave today.

I was fully remote a year ago. This is really dumb. But I'm going to have an old school snow day, go sledding, bake cookies.
