i have had two new grans in the last couple of years. nobody ever mentioned this to me.
|
My friends actually all agree with me on this. That's why i posted here. |
unsurprising |
From the aap ( bc cdc is currently purely political and not based on science) "The AAP recommends a single dose of age-appropriate 2025–2026 COVID-19 vaccine for all children and adolescents 2 through 18 years of age in the following risk groups (as described in Table 1) regardless of prior COVID-19 vaccination status: ○ Persons at high risk of severe COVID-192 ○ Residents of long-term care facilities or other congregate settings ○ Persons who have never been vaccinated against COVID-19 ○ Persons whose household contacts are at high risk for severe COVID-192,17 " I'd assume your niece is a household contact ( and also a good reason why everyone in society should be getting it so babies can function in society... have kept my baby out of public spaces until vaccinated) |
| Do all of you ask for proof? |
Not the covid shot. |
Yes captain obvious people didn't ask you to get vaccinated for a virus that did not get exist a decade ago |
Honestly who cares what your friends think? My best friend struggled with post partum anxiety and some of the things she asked for were a bit over the top (a lot of tracking, she had me disinfect my shoes and bag). However, this is my best friend and I cared about her. So while it wasn't a choice I made with my own kid, I respected her wishes. She's set a boundary, you, your friends, us internet randos, don't get to overrule her boundary. Your actions are entirely up to you. I'd personally get the shots, I've done it for my preemie nephew and my best friend's kid. I don't think she's being unreasonable but even if she was being over protective, when you care about someone you don't have to win the interactions. It's not about that. |

DTAP, for sure if you're out of date..
Flu and COVID, a test and a good mask and fresh air is fine. |
Critical thinking is not your strong suit. Guess what nobody asked to get the current flu shot 10 years ago… because it changes every year, dumb a$$. |
| I understand the flu shot and Dtap but the covid shot doesn't make sense to me. it doesn't prevent you from getting covid. |
Same and we're all health conscious people and a number of us healthcare professionals. Stay away if you're sick. Wash your hands before handling the baby. |
|
It's not unheard of but it's only a certain type of person that insists on this
It's more important for your sister to get the RSV immunization or to have the baby get it in hospital. She also should prepare not to leave the house at all until after cold/ flu season hopefully her and her partner have ample leave. |
I agree as well so would all of my friends, peers and everyone in my orbit. |
No but it does show you are intelligent and not a dummy |
