Your friends opinions, nor those of us here, do not matter. Either do as asked or wait to see the baby. You are not the parent. |
You need to just stay home and stop complaining. |
|
Agree it mostly sounds like you're looking for an excuse not to visit the baby and want to be able to blame your sister for it |

this is from the CDC website.
Child COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage COVID-19 vaccination coverage for children 6 months─17 years is based on data from CDC's National Immunization Survey–Flu (NIS-Flu). Estimates of vaccination coverage are based on parental report. Data and charts are available here. As of April 26, 2025, 13.0% (95% Confidence Interval: 12.5%─13.6%) of children were reported to be up to date with the 2024─25 COVID-19 vaccine. 6.7% (5.2%─8.3%) of children had a parent who reported they definitely planned to get their child vaccinated. Reported receipt of the COVID-19 vaccine varied by child's age, mother's education, poverty status, race and ethnicity, urbanicity, and jurisdiction. |
| You sound nuts, OP. Do everyone a favor and stay home. |
|
Stay home.
Are you planning to be this insufferable and tedious about every parenting decision your sister makes? |
|
I get flu and covid every year but hate getting TDAP. I've had six or seven TDAP in my lifetime and hate them and have gotten a few titres and they are still high. My cousin's wife was not comfortable with accepting titers, so I just waited a few months to see the baby except for one time outside when I wore a kn95 mask. They were ok with that and so was I.
Either get the shots or stay away the first few months. Don't be a jerk. |
This! |
| Haven't read the rest of the replies, but your sister sounds neurotic. |
It’s not worth it. I would stay home and say hi via FaceTime. That’s a lot of money and grief just to meet a baby. |
+1 |
You're an idiot. An absolute idiot. I pity any daughter-in-law you may ever have. |
You and your friends are all a "type" and we all see that. |
Ridiculous question. This is the lack of education in this country at work. Let me guess, you get your medical advice from some weird right wing podcast, right? |
