How often do you run your dishwasher and how large is your family?

Family of five (though the littlest one is only 6 months old) and we run ours absolutely every night. That's been our routine since we were a family of three, even though often it wasn't full then. That way, you run it, it's clean in the morning, and unloading it is part of the morning routine.

Once kid three is eating more real food, we'll probably need to run it twice a day on weekends. It's FULL at the end of the day now.

Dishwashers use shockingly little water now. I don't think you should worry.

Family of five. Once per day in the evening before bed. On weekends it might be twice per day if we are cooking more.

Family of four, always twice a day. Every now and then I use the "light" cycle for the mid-day run, but usually not. We almost never eat out (only very special occasions) or buy lunch out/at school, which I think makes a big difference -- our kitchen gets used a lot.

Live in a family of 4, including 1 child, but one person insists on only running when full. Its a major point of annoyance for me bc I would run everyday even though we only fill it 70% most days. I pick my battles bc I am otherwise v busy.
