Emory was also out of reach if these were your options.

Correct. Much better than BC

Could the Emory kids hack it at UGA or GT?

For our child and family, we would pick BC.

I know Miami is hot right now.

BC's heyday was around 2008-2015. Its best days are behind it with no meaningful long-term plan to improve the school. Miami on the other hand....

You’re typing pretty well, given that your right hand probably got quite a workout during last night’s game.

It did get quite a workout. Did you clean up your face yet?

Why so crude? Did the Padres at BC do a number on you behind closed doors?

Yes. Easily. Some full pays want to be around other full pays.

Why? Can’t hack it at a flagship?

Wake has the best academic reputation of the three-few years ago rated in top 25. BC until
30 years ago was a poor kids commuter school. Miami has never been in top 25 ranking resembles Tulane.

BC, Miami and Wake are all great schools. Pick based on fit. All attract nice well rounded kids who will become successful adults.

Some posters here are just awful.

Wake is really Greek. BC is not Greek at all. The two are not alike. Miami is a fine school with good weather but a little below them in candle power.

At Wake only 30% of men join frats higher % women join sororities. At BC over 70% undergrads are Catholic not a surprise as it is a Catholic school but higher % than Georgetown. Miami has fallen and risen in popularity due to football fortunes but now it’s hot.

"Only" 30 percent is a lot when those 30 percent totally dominate campus social life.

Plus are freshman even counted in this?

I find this thread very amusing. BC has been a super hot school for a decade with no decline in sight because everyone wants to go to school in Boston. Maybe you southerners have yet to get the message or, more likely, you are new to the college search. But BC does not need your help.

Wake and BC attract extremely similar kids. There may not be Greek life at BC. but there is a very active partying scene.

We took Tulane and Miami off the table for our fun loving kid because the night life scene can be a lot. That said, plenty of kids do great there. You have to know whether it will be a distraction for your particular child.

Kids from the northeast don’t want to go to school in North Carolina unless it’s Duke; they do want to go to school in Mass.

Because being around kids who can only afford in state tuition is gross. Marry up
