100% Wake
No comparison |
Even with the terrible ranking? |
| Boston College is the the best of the three. |
To be honest, both Wake and BC are very underrated by US News… |
|
Miami has been on a tear with spending, outspending the other two with not only infrastructure but with professor hiring. Just a matter of time before they crack t50 again.
Plus, student body definitely fitter at Miami…. PS: I went to BC and husband to Miami. |

Visit and decide. They’re all so different and it will be a personal preference.
My preference would be BC, Miami and WF. Wake is too small town for me. Miami is too club culture and I hate the weather. Again, personal preference. |

All 3 are safety schools with addition of Tulane. Defining difference is BC is a Catholic school
run by Jesuit order. Some of these non Catholic BC boosters downplay the church influence but they have strong relationships with Boston Archdiocese. |
They aren’t safety for the A- 1400 kid. They are reaches without ED. |
If you think they are safety schools (especially WF) you are a troll for sure. |
Would a liberal be welcome at BC? |
| In MASS there are 8- 10 schools better than Boston College. In NC., Wake is the 4th best school. Alumni networks are average at best. Kids that can’t kid into ND and Georgetown enroll at BC which competes with Villanova. Wake is a peer of URichmond. |
| ^BC likes full pay! |
Why don’t you take your attitude to a different thread, clearly your child has no interest in these schools and we have no interest in your negativity. |

Seems to me that all three schools -- all terrific schools! -- have very different vibes. Before going ED to any of them, please have your DC visit (while the students are on campus).
I think all three schools have great things to recommend them so your DC should pick based on which seems like the best fit. Caution, though: BC is much harder RD (and they yield protect). I think that's true about Miami too, but I'm not sure, and I have no clue about Wake. |
It is possible second tier private colleges will become safeties for top flagships. Why go to Wake over UNC, Emory over UGA, etc. |
