They'll need an upgrade in facility access before they can pull coaches. Who wants to coach at a place that is so limiting? |
Cool thoughts. We were already given our team fees. Now SYC is changing them to the tune of $750-1000 (but no one knows yet because you know communication and stuff). So what parents were told would be like a few hundred dollars depending on the team is now well over a thousand dollars. |
Don’t pay |
Is it also true that he added three MU coaches to the SYC payroll just because he attended the school? If true Some of that money could have been put towards paying for the facility. But hey, it’s SYC and everyone gets their beak wet. |
|
After reading all these threads, it’s hard to ignore where SYC is heading, late fee bans after 30 days, surprise $750–$1000 increases, and little communication.
I have learned that the President is also the Travel Commissioner!!! Ahhhhh, exactly why the title, SYC is getting rid of all sports and only focusing on soccer, is so convincing. Travel Soccer Directors and Coaches getting raises, MU coaches on payroll, nothing on the 990s, it all points one way. If families want SYC to remain a youth club and keep the other sports, then we have to remove the current President. |
| As someone close to this situation, more than just the President needs to be removed from the Board! Why is the.Board. It comprised of all sports? |
| A "Call to Action" email just went out. Sounds serious. |
| Post it here |

| Isn't the board already 100% soccer parents? |
My kids play SYC in a non-soccer sport and we're looking at them for a different rec sport. I would be ticked if I were already a parent there that soccer's trying to stack the board so that the other sports aren't heard. |
Very interesting email. Could you please tell us WHO sent that email out? Thank you |
| You can see who the board members are online, but I’m not even sure all of them are soccer-related. The email just sounds like a normal campaign to me, different groups wanting their own people in, like any other election. Not saying the entire board should be soccer, but doesn’t each sport run pretty independently anyways? |
The technical director sent it. |
| Money is in soccer at SYC. Let someone else worry about the other sports. The pressure to continue to produce in MLSN and build a girls in GA essentially from scratch appears to be bleeding the coffers dry |
