| Wasn't it now or never last year for Potomac? |
|
Visi’s program similar to Gonzaga’s has been losing momentum for quite some time.
The parents are both of these schools tend to have some overlap and are freaking insane. Coaches fizzle out after a season or two, the mental headache is not worth it. Coaching stability is the key for any program to ride the ship forward. As long as KJ remains at the Saints, they will continue to remain a top 5 program in the area. Potomac has also become a great destination for NOVA families seeking high caliber lacrosse, they will remain competitive. SR and GC will remain the elite programs in this area as long as current HCs remain in seat. Hopefully GC and the Saints play this spring too as it would be a great contest. |
It sure does seem this would be KJs last year considering next year would be the start of a rebuilding process. She'll go out on top, which would be a fitting end to a great career. |

The gloom and doom seems a little overwrought. When you say "it's over" for SSSAS, Visi, and Potomac after the 26s graduate, it's hard to understand what you mean. Are you saying relative strength versus SR and GC tier? Ability to go up to Baltimore and Philly and compete in the non-conference schedule? Predicting a down period like PVI or BI may be entering in terms of competition with the top tier (8-10 goal differentials)? Or what?
Couple of counterpoints: (1) the (unproven) consensus seems to be the 2029 class is better than the 2027s or 2028s in the area and that the 2030s maybe be pretty good too. Shouldn't we wait a couple of years to see their impact on these programs?; and (2) if multiple programs are down, isn't the relative strength going to level out about the same? Holy Child, or Holton, or the ISL A teams all have a big gap to compete with the big 4 in the ISL. Same outside of the top 2 in the WCAC. So what is the upshot? |

Visi is done after this spring.

Great argument; so well-supported. |
| Sssas will win it all with their 20 d1/d3 recruits. KJ will be hoisted up in celebration of her retirement and a statue will be erected at the front of the field. Families burned by her will donate money to put bathrooms outside and under said statue. The 27s will finally see the field and enjoy that one amazing year of high school they’ve all been waiting for. The new science center will attract a wealth of young scientists and sssas will become a science school rivaling TJ. You heard it here first. |
This post wins DCUM, hands down. |

| Any info on O’Connell Lacrosse? I know they are not a contender but curious if the program is good for the girls’ development. |
the disrespect to someone so inspiring to many other coaches and players in this area is rude. am sure your daughters coach has called KJ for advice, help, or just to talk. She is personable and wants to watch the game continue to grow and is not a dinosaur. I am sorry that you wish your kid could see the field at some school like SR where the girls are slitting each others throats on and off the field to "be the best". Kathy cares to make these girls and the lacrosse community better. |

Sure , why wouldn’t it be? It doesn’t attract the same talent as the other schools but they still have a few girls who commit |
