Who has the best recruiting class next season?

I am more curious who has the stronger uprising sophomore and junior classes. They will be the ones making a difference next year on their teams. Not the 2029's.

The 2025 version of this page has grown old. Perhaps we should move on to the 2026 version but yet carry on with this great question on goalie travel teams for major WCAC and ISL teams?

"What travel team's does everyone's goalies play on in both leagues?"

Or perhaps comment on how much a sub-standard league the WCAC has become after the GC NW commit and the SJC Commits to Harvard, NW, Yale and Penn have not left the league? please discuss

I heard the Visi coach left, who will replace him?

Is that the dad coach? I thought his daughter had one more year. Maybe he got sick of dealing with parents

Good restart. Will take on the substandard question.

Couple of observations:

There is a tendency to overly focus on a generational talent or major player like the GC player who now plays for NW, or the ND commits from Visi, the UNC commit at SR, etc.

For example, the GC NW player had a tremendous senior class and deep Junior and Sophomore classes out there with her. GC's defense and goaltending in 2024, and this season, were a major contributor to their success. Turns out they didn't lose a game in the DC are this year either, even without her, although they were not as successful against top Baltimore and Philly teams in the preseason.

On the other hand, Visi had outstanding individual players, and maybe the best player in the area, but lost most games against the ISL top 4, and the top 2 in the WCAC.

The player of the year in the WCAC is outstanding, and is headed to Florida, but her team couldn't beat the top two in the WCAC or any of the top 4 in the ISL.

In short, it's a team game. We have teams in both conferences that remain strong, and can beat each other on any given day, as well as play competitive games with other top regions.

The question in terms of what is necessary to elevate one of the schools above the rest and put them on par with the top teams from Baltimore, Philly, and NY (like the 2024 GC team), is where the next generational player will come from--and whether the school has the program depth to surround her with to take that step to national top 5.

That is an intriguing question, but doesn't make the current WCAC or ISL teams "substandard". Several landed in the top 25-40 of all the major rankings (Inside Lacrosse; USA Lacrosse; Lax Numbers).

I will note that the WCAC needs more than just GC to be good. SJC, PVI, and BI (or another program) need to take a step up to be on par with the ISL. SJC looks to be closest to doing so. We will know more about these teams when we see the lists of 2027 Commits and understand whether there are 2029s that can make an early impact.

Also, there are several questions worth asking on the ISL side:

--Is SR able to simply reload with strong 2027 and 2028 players replacing outgoing senior talent?
--Whether Potomac can sustain their position after losing their outstanding 2025 class?
--Who will coach Visi which maintains good talent?
--Can the 2026s at SSSAS carry them to a title?

Will turn it over to others to assess those.

This is way too thoughtful and insightful for these pages.

We have to assume Visi knew the coach was leaving after graduation and has someone lined up right?

Hearing rumors that the Coach has officially departed ways with Visi.

Not a good look for Visi and a very difficult time to be hiring this late in the season for a replacement.

I'm sure Visi had a detailed succession planning process and an announcement of the new coach is imminent.

Knowing Visi, they have no succession plan.

The HC there has been a revolving door for the past decade.

Hire a full time coach who can work in the school - it’s simple.

Will be interesting to see if any visi players transfer out this summer
