Dump Chuck Schumer

Anonymous
Chuck Schumer is a disgrace. And supposedly he has a book tour scheduled next week. That loser knows if he doesn't get the GOP's CR passed he'll have to cancel. If the CR does pass with his help, I hope there were be massive protests scheduled at ever stop of his book tour and the burning of his craptastic book.

It won't matter that it makes everyone see clearly how evil Trump and co are because he will have so much power if govt shuts down. You get one or the other - piss everyone off by passing this bill or piss everyone off by intro new ways of pissing everyone off on a daily basis. Which one you want?

They have all the power they need now that dems have walked away from governing. Sad fact. Just you wait.

Schumer is no more of a disgrace than 99% of his colleagues in Congress. Shame on the people that repeatedly elect these slimy politicians.

His Book Tour stops and dates below. There are probably more. These are just the ones I could find with a quick google. This douche bag only cares about not canceling his book tour so wants to oblige the GOP with their CR. Screw him

Except it isn’t. Biden didn’t F with DC’s local budget.

If that happens, I suspect Chuck and FettermN would switch parties to the GOP. Those two are so compromised by the Wall Street and Israel lobbies.

This is the actual question faced by the Dems:

If you vote for the CR, you vote for a bill that's a corrupted version of the Biden CR (many more social service cuts esp for DC + much more money for military). You are essentially voting to help the GOP get what they want and give them complete control - suggesting that Dems have zero power. It's a complete a utter show of disrespect from the GOP the Dems are accepting.

BUT - if you vote to reject CR -
You vote to shut down the US govt and while essential services should still run, there's plenty of workers who will be affected. Moreover - and the biggest legit concern is that tech speaking, while the "all" the govt is shut down, Trump + allies can make a solid case of why we can have a smaller govt. You give him all the leverage he needs to keep the govt shut down and you give him carte blanche to develop whatever he wants as a "new" form of govt. Effectively, you give him exactly what he's always wanted - the power to remake US govt however he wants.

So - which way do you all really want things to be? This is not business as usual where we shut down and return to negotiate to get govt back running. This is a matter of keeping our govt as damaged as it is or shuttering what we have today as it will be replaced by the Trump govt in full capacity once he's gotten rid of this damaged one, but still one run by 2 parties and a "legit" one.

They don’t control a single branch of government. They have no path to passing a funding bill with language to block Trump and Musk. Democrats who believe they do are delusional. Why would the President sign such a bill? This CR was basically all of the spending they voted for last year. I don’t see why they would shut the government down over virtually the same spending bill they voted for last year.

I’m not delusional but they could at least insist on funding for DC. Super excited to see how much safer and more beautiful the city will be after this. But of course, that’s the long game. Turn it into the Narrows and then institute Marshall law of some kind, sell it off for parts.

Trump and Musk already shut down the non fascist parts of government. Why should Democrats support keeping the rest running?

You do realize that Trump can (and is) do this anyway, right? In some cases they’re doing it illegally (USAID) but he can’t just decide to reopen some offices/agencies. Congress has to fund them. The executive branch can reorganize, but to do it legally, Congress would have to approve it. The things y’all are afraid Trump won’t reopen, he will just close later if he wants to. Departments turned in plans this week to reduce workforce - ED was ahead of the curve but there will be massive cuts and reorganization everywhere. There was no win for Dems here but this CR is the bigger loss. It gives credibility to Trump dismantling the government.

Shutting it down looks like a protest, and it’s what people want. It will look favorable for them because it looks like they are doing something against Trump and the GOP. As long as they start with “Thug Thune” or similar at every interview.

Were damned if we do and damned if we don't this time.

I now hate Republicans with a burning passion I've never experienced before.

They should provide seven votes, not eight. Let it be on Rand Paul.
