His attorney filed a habeas petition. That will be reviewed by a federal judge or an immigration judge? |
Again. I suspect Trump knows that he can't just summarily deport this guy. He's scoring points with his base. Trump gets a political win regardless of whether the guy actually gets deported. |
I assume that goes before a federal judge. |
Doubt it. Obviously ICE didn't know that he had a green card rather than visa. And Trump doesn't care. However, our immigration system doesn't operate at the whim of the president. This man will have his rights properly protected, just like anyone else. No matter what the president, or the ADL, tweets. |
And they will, the State Dept. is who can initiate that, it seems they will go that route. Meanwhile they can lawfully hold him for any charges they found. No sympathy for a foreign national who chose to wage war against his host nation. Yes, it is waging war when you are a foreign national who disagree with government position of another foreign nation. US Citizens can protest because it is our government, and we elected our government, therefore we have the right to protest those policies. This person clearly has no business protesting US foreign policy and he can go back to where he came from. |
Lawfully, without any indication that he is violent or a danger, no they can't. SMH |
+1 And where is he? El Salvador?.who knows? |
He was not deported but sent to Louisiana. |
The immigration system does largely fall under the president's authority. Fortunately, the independent judiciary does not. |
I love how sure you are of your nonsense. That's real "make America great again" energy |
Read the article to answer your question |
Sure because they bundled and didn't realize (how?) That he had a green card. You'd think they have a list or something.. |
Agree with both of these PPs. We'll see what happens as the case works its way through the courts. But, the Trump administration did the right thing here and I'm pretty sure lots of people agree. |
* bungled |
Supporting Palestine people's right to live is not supporting Hamas. I bet you to find documentation that shows he supported Hamas (as in holding posters for Hamas support, sending money to Hamas or fighting in the Hamas group). Students who protested against the war protested because of human rights violations and international war law violations. This is Trump flexing his autocratic muscle to redefine "Hamas support". |
