Question? Where will he be deported? Palestinians who leave their country have nor rights of return. He is not allowed back in the country, so where will Magas send him

He was born in Syria, I believe.

+1

I don’t understand why he was involved in the Columbia protests. He got the opportunity of a lifetime to come to the US.

Agree with both of these PPs. We'll see what happens as the case works its way through the courts. But, the Trump administration did the right thing here and I'm pretty sure lots of people agree.

I'm pretty sure "lots of people" will not agree. They DOGE ed his arrest (if it is an arrest.) Act fast and stupid and maybe you'll break stuff.

And I am equally positive that lots of people disagree. With that said, elections have consequences and many people who voted third party or abstained were made aware of this exact possibility.

If we ever get an opportunity to have another free election, people who advocate for this selective prosecution should know that what goes around has a grave possibility of coming around to them. This country is in the throes of tearing its self apart.

This is not helping the Jews control America conspiracy theory.
Way to live up to the stereotype

How does he get a win? Most American Jews do not support Trump.

Criticizing Israel’s policies and actions does nothing to meet those elements.

It’s sad (but mostly pathetic) that anyone needs to point that out.

And, all in support of Hamas......

Even your twitter rando did not mention his support of "Hamas".

Enjoy your free flight back to Syria, buckaroo.

You are so ignorant. Palestine doesnt have any country. They dont even have a currency. Hamas uses shekels. They use El Al Airport just like any other Israeli and you are none the wiser.

Hamas is being enabled by Likud. The Jewish far right and Palestinian far right need each other and the rubes in their countries are just pawns.

His base is not American Jews.

It's people who dislike First Amendment speech, which they don't support.

I guess they could drop him off in the West Bank.

Was he convicted of these crimes? If so, then a hearing in front of an IJ is the next step. If not, then you should be ashamed of yourself.

Dude admits to it everyone. Not sure why we need a conviction.

Hmm - do you have a video of it for reference?

The antisemites believe this no matter how meekly Jewish people act. And plenty of people who aren’t Jewish are fine with deporting people who promote terrorism.

-Not a Jew.

What does “espousing terroristic activity” mean? What law? Stop making stuff up. Last time I checked, the First Amendment was actually the law. I’m Jewish and don’t agree with what this person said or did, but I am appalled by this arrest and the notion that lawful residents are being deported for exercising free speech.

Thank you for supporting the right thing. I am an immigrant Citizen and this feels my heart. This should worry everyone who is a naturalized citizen. The laws are not the same for us. Any day the govt can turn against us and declare the free speech we exercise is actually terroristic activity and we need to be deported. If this news does not worry you then you are not paying attention!

And you all voted for Trump and were told he would do this. And when people tried to warn you, you told them to STFU.

I am the OP. I did not vote for Trump and I will never vote for anyone who is a criminal or a racist.

Anonymous wrote:This is potentially a bad precedent. It will have to go through the courts. The mitigating factor is advocating for Hamas - an officially designated terrorist organization. Yes, we have free speech. But foreign citizens - even Green Card holders - advocating for violent religious extremists like Hamas becomes a national security concern. Hamas is well known for suicide bombings, blowing up buses and restaurants, torture, slavery, kidnappings and so on. Green Card holders seeking to increase the influence of Hamas in America - and college campuses in particular - is definitely pushing some legal boundaries.

If what you have said is true, then the chances are is that he will be deported. For those of you that think deporting him is harsh, when you apply to come to the US, you are asked questions about terrorism etc. I bet he never put on his application that he supported Hamas or any other terrorist organization. If he had, he wouldn't have been allowed into the US in the first place.

But did he support Hamas? Is he quoted anywhere saying anything other than protesting the war against the Palestinian civilians in Gaza? There are many people who protest for the Palestinian civilians who do NOT support Hamas. Calling protesters supporters of Hamas is a tactic used by the GOP/MAGA and the Israeli government to malign people who are exercising their right to protest bombing of innocent civilians.

So I think that will be the key point. Hamas is a designated terrorist organization. It is responsible for suicide bombings, kidnappings, torture, and murder. It is deeply misogynistic. It advocates for the death of all members of the LGTBQ community. It is profoundly anti-democratic. It has advocated for the genocide of all Jews. It is also absurdly corrupt. Its leaders were billionaires that stole billions in aid. And Hamas has shown that it is perfectly capable and willing to murder more than a 1000 innocent people on a Saturday morning.

The Columbia student protestors have shown over and over again that they are advocates for Hamas. Just listen to them - "We are all Hamas." "Hamas, we love you. We love your rockets too." And on and on. There are a million different ways to protest against the Netanyahu government. Israelis do it every day. But the student protesters have chosen to affiliate themselves and to mouth the propaganda of Hamas - an officially designated terrorist organization. For an immigrant, it would be like obtaining a visa for Ireland and then advocating for the death of all Catholics, gays, and the subjugation of women. It would be a problem anywhere. This is not a free speech issue. This is knowingly advancing the interests of terrorists while in the US.

Regardless of the nuances of the law, it really is profoundly stupid for immigrants to loudly advocate and encourage a terrorist organization. He should probably be deported just for the lack of common sense and decency alone.

Produce receipt or shut up. Show us this Green Card holder did that, stop opining on hypotheticals.

Hate speech, fomenting and participating civil disorder here, and supporting terrorism abroad, should have no sanctuary behind First Amendment protections within U.S. borders. Those protections are not unlimited, as this Hamas supporter is finding out.

Imagine rounding up all the civil rights and anti-Vietnam college protesters because you disagree with what they were saying and doing. You people are nuts. Wait until they come for you or someone you care ability or love. Will you be spewing your same hateful barbs. Doubt it.

Just the ones that aren't citizens.

Green card holders have the same first amendment rights as any citizens.
