Or they handle it like adults in a professional manner.

Good luck with that…literally put all of your eggs in one basket…

Maybe it will work out great. Your comment sounds a bit jealous…you said “your” so you aren’t a Tuckahoe member.

Why do you care?

The existing Associate Member Agreement with Machine Aquatics continues to be in effect and will be operative until the expiration of the contract in summer 2025. A new multi-year contract with Hydra Aquatics will begin this August."

Was the RFP a multi-year solicitation? Was Tuck just renewing and old contract with Mach very year in years past? Did they review annually? Why did they a do a 1 year with Mach? and Multiyear with new club?

If you are a Tuckahoe member you should contact the Board. If you are not why does it matter to you? They reviewed the proposals and made a decision.

It sounds like Machine had a contract that is coming up for expiration. They are going in a different direction.

Seems like communication could be an issue.

Has Torey even formally informed York he is leaving?

Dear York Families,

We are writing to inform you of an email that has been sent to the Tuckahoe membership about Coach T starting a new team next year at Tuckahoe.

We wanted to let you know that we are aware of the situation and know many of you have questions and concerns about this.
It is our intention to remain focused on what has always been our priority for over 40 years and that is your children. We expect practices and coaches to be in place for the remainder of the season without interruption to your swimmers. Right now we want them to feel focused and excited for the championship season coming up; PV Champs Meets, March Madness, our team travel meets to St Petersburg FL as well as our social activities like bowling and Senior Retreat.
We are here to help you answer any questions that you might have and encourage you to reach out to Coach M

Great email from York. Families should reach out to them with questions.

Same should go for Machine about the practice facility. The clubs are the best place to get answers about the plan going forward.

Machine sent an update this morning to impacted families. I got it at 9:50

Another Tuckahoe member here and I can confirm. 5 year waiting list. I have friends on it.

There is not some back door recruiting operation that lets people become members. There is a list, you pay a deposit, and wait for slots to open.

Not sure why people continue these false rumors!

Hilarious. Trust me, there is a different process for families with fast swimmers.

-Tuckahoe member who will actually admit to the existence of loopholes

Totally!

- board member for a club that allows each standing board member to get a one time “move to the front of the list” pass for a family they can vouch for. Who do you think the families getting that pass are?!
People can’t be this obtuse.

Okay “tuckahoe member” give your name and a name of an actual swimmer that benefited from this process.

We will be waiting…

Substantiate your claims and the gossip with actual facts.

Vouching for a family sounds a bit different than letting a complete stranger with a “fast” kid onto the team.

What club are you on the board for?

It doesn’t sounds different to me. You vouch for the family whose kid swims on the same club team as your kid and is very fast?

Exactly. And I won’t name my club, sorry. Many clubs have loopholes like this that members wouldn’t know about.

Lol, you mean, for just one example, the MD swimmer who they brought in to break an NVSL relay record a few years ago? It happens. What is the point in denying it?

LOL sounds like other clubs do it too based on another poster so why are you complaining about Tuckahoe doing it?

At least they bring in super fast record breaking swimmers based on your post above. Helps them continue to be the best in the NVSL and set records in the process.

What is the problem with the policy if it’s an actual allowed process and other clubs do it?? As a Tuckahoe member why wouldn’t you be happy about fielding a great swim team?

I also don’t think that vouching for people or getting a pass to the front of the line is the same as recruiting.

Or the swimmer whose family moved to the area from Europe and was magically swimming for Tuckahoe that summer
