Organized by the advocacy group The People’s Union USA, the nationwide blackout is designed to shed light on consumers' impact and to push for economic change. According to the organization's website, the 24-hour spending pause sends a message to corporations, industries, and politicians about economic power in the U.S., which they say is "in the hands of the wealthy elite."

Saving all my weekly spending for Feb 28th.

Thanks for the heads up, commie.

You seem to be using words you don’t understand.

You seem to be at a complete loss for a substantive retort. But still felt the need to let your empty head rattle out of your cakehole.

You wonder why you’re single, don’t you?

What a joke.

Maybe yes; maybe no.

But today is the day.

Today is the day.

I hope national and local media are covering this, starting with the morning shows.

I’m seeing coverage that it’s happening but too soon for any effect to be reported on.

I’m not buying anything today, I feel great about it, and I won’t let MAGA steal my will, my joy, or my commitment.

I am not participating much other than groceries and rent. But sticking to not shopping today, or this weekend. And we plan to cancel Amazon when it comes up for renewal soon.

We already had out of town plans this weekend and I forgot to get a car wash earlier this week. Car looks like crap after the snow. Now in a long line at a local car wash so I think people are largely ignoring this economic boycott.

I’ll find other ways to express my displeasure with MAGA. I generally don’t respond well to these types of edicts anyway.

I am not buying anything today. However, I have been buying only food and gas since Jan 20.

You are in line at one car wash in the entire United States of America so this leads you to believe that "people are largely ignoring the boycott."

You really have some scientific and accurate polling going on here.

Same since January 20th. This will be long-term for me.

We're basically buying groceries only these days.

I usually eat a very light lunch a sandwich packed from home, but after reading this I’m going out to eat today and make sure I pick up some things I don’t really need at the Target next door.

Go for it. Throw in some diamonds and a new car while your at it

Not doing the same. Too many people I respect are doing this and sticking their necks out for me to not support them.
