For people unhappy about the role of corporate interests in our lives. It’s 24 hours on February 28 to not participate in the economy to the extent possible and choose small businesses and in cash if it’s essential.


Organized by the advocacy group The People’s Union USA, the nationwide blackout is designed to shed light on consumers' impact and to push for economic change. According to the organization's website, the 24-hour spending pause sends a message to corporations, industries, and politicians about economic power in the U.S., which they say is "in the hands of the wealthy elite."

Independent here. Former Republican. I am very unhappy with corporate greed and having it control my life. So
I think it’s a good idea to remind the titans that they are lucky not brilliant.

Every day is black out day for us now. Buying only necessities and making more thoughtful, careful choices about where we buy them.

Because no one in the entire history of the world was fired from a job. You are so special, so unique, of course you are terrified. Those wusses who saw their children blown apartment by an IEP or their house leveled by a fire or flood have no patch on the true terror in which you live.
