The famous salted oatmeal cookies from Teaism... overwhelmingly salty, and (I can't believe I'm even saying this) too buttery? Or maybe it's shortening?

I guess I can see how some people would like them but after all the hype I was kind of grossed out by the reality.

I'm a NYer and once tried Costco's pizza. It was terrible. Cheap, but not at all worth it.

Today I tried their chocolate cheesecake bites. They were awful. I will be bringing the rest to work next week for those people who'll inhale anything.

The "cheesecake" part doesn't taste like cheesecake at all - it's not rich or dense like it should be, and the chocolate quality just isn't there. Big disappointment.

Yeah, the thing is I really hate cooking, hate cleaning up from it, and would be annoyed to have all that stuff left over. Waste of money.

Try the Pillsbury cookie dough from the refrigerated section. I’m sure dcum will scoff at it, but they are good fresh from the oven without having to make the dough yourself. Back in the day when my metabolism ran high I would make them all the time. So good!

Childs play. Costco used to sell cookie dough by the bucket.

All of their food court stuff except the soda makes me sick. My kids wanted to try the churro and soft serve hack. I was too sick after a couple bites to leave the bathroom for an hour. The manager came in to check on me.

I can’t eat fried food and soft serve together so I don’t. I don’t blame the store

I've tried several of Kenji Lopez-Alt dishes and none of the results were outstanding.

Latest try was his oven fried chicken wings. Followed the recipe. Got the wings from Whole Foods ($$$). Followed the recipe. Only difference was I turned on the convection feature for the last 15 minutes because they didn't look crispy. They tasted baked, not oven fried.

I've given his recipes several tries. I think he's all about diverging from traditional techniques. While it's fun to try new techniques, so far his recipes are batting zero for me.

Ended up throwing both out. It had to be a bad day with broken over or trying to bring old pastry to life. They were not expired or even 1+ days old.

I am not usually this person, but I got a gift certificate to a kitchen store and bought a small Peugeot french pepper mill. Wood, reusable, adjustable grind. It’s pretty and it works really well. I really recommend!

Trader Joe’s mini ice cream cones last about two minutes in our house no matter how many boxes I buy. I have to admit, I’m as bad as the kids with chomping down three or four.

I recently bought a rice cooker and am underwhelmed or else am an idiot and am doing it wrong (it’s possible). I got the Aroma brand which is cheap but was recommended by wirecutter.

The rice comes out too dry and sticky or else mishy and sticky every time. I always thoroughly pre-rinse the rice, and I follow the directions! I make better (and quicker) rice on the stovetop.
