What does it matter why someone votes the way they do on the issues they find important. My vote counts just as much as yours does.

Also, what happened with my body, my choice when it came to covid vaccines? My body my choice is just that, "my body MY choice." Yet biden and his fed vax mandate. I can't EVER forgive that. EVER.

PREACH!!!!! I TOTALLY AGREE.

If you look at the two candidates and actually think---Trump is the better choice and you just cannot wrap your head around voting for Kamala, most likely you are misogynistic and racist. Most non-MAGA Republicans and ex trump staff and cabinet members have come out for Harris. And have stated why. So if you just cannot imagine voting for her, there is a lot more than just policy. Or you actually want a fascist dictator, racist pig and misogynist in the WH again.

this is your opinion. For me trump is the logical choice.

+1 I think they will move right

+1 I'm a Harris voter. I'm personally not against immigration and I hate the demonization of undocumented immigrants. That being said, it's clear that Democrats have either intentionally or unintentionally focused way too much on identity politics. They really need to look back on the Obama years. The ACA is an achievement but its benefits for working people are pretty limited. The middle class is hollowing out. What are they really doing for working people? I abhor Trump and his rhetoric, but Democrats really need to figure out a message beyond "Trump is terrible". I don't really understand what they are doing with immigration. I'm glad they don't hate immigrants, but Biden and Harris have really not had a coherent approach to it. It doesn't seem like they care?

Obama should go down in history as probably the worst President of the modern age. The Great Divider blew a historic opportunity to unite this country racially. He did just the opposite. Everything about him was about race. He poured gasoline on the racial tensions in the country. Perfect example was his 2009 White House Beer Garden Summit. In fact, there's a strong argument that Trump was elected in 2016 as blow back from 8 years of the Great Dividers policies and the fact that no one wanted to see Pants Suit in the White House.

You and I could be friends IRL I totally agree. This is when the world went sideways. This exact moment. Then the division, then the hate anyone that doesn't belive what you do. "inclusiveness" gone especially if your christian (the devil) or republicans (super devil). Life has not been the same again.

Another poster who agrees with you both. We are simply deplorables who "cling to our guns and Bibles."

I'm the PP. I don't even own a gun. I just can't stand the identity politics of the modern day Democrats. It's toxic and ripping this country apart. Just please stop. I don't care what race, sex, religion, sexuality, ethnicity, etc a person is. MLKJr was spot on...it's about the content of one's character. And the other huge issue I have with the Dems is their push for socialist policies and the forced distribution of wealth. This should scare every single American. Capitalism is not perfect but it has brought more people out of poverty than any other economic system ever tried. It's not even close. I have no problem with entrepreneurs like Bezos or Musk becoming billionaires. Wish we had a million more like them. Just think of the sheer number of tax-paying jobs they have created both directly in their companies and the secondary and tertiary companies that came after, the innovations they helped pioneer, and the efficiencies they developed. Dems want to kill the golden goose with their excessive tax proposals and spending. Dems should get out of the way and remove barriers and unnecessary regulations and reduce the size of the government.

Ironic that you're so focused on "identity politics" when white identity is the crux of Trump's entire grievance-based campaign.

Plus, the Democratic Party will send their shock-troops in Antifa, DSA, BLM, and antisemite groups to burn, loot, and murder just like they did across the US in 2020.

Yup. The tolerant left will be shown again and again not to be so tolerant of people who don't share their crazy opinions.

+100 they went to far and lost people along the way myself included in that!!!

Same here! Voted Obama twice and then Clinton. Insane COVID policies shifted me to Trump in 2020, and I'm not looking back. That COVID response was unforgivable...and now among other issues I have with the dem party, I'll never vote dem again.

I'm old enough to remember 2020, and the person in charge of the COVID response then was Donald Trump. You know, the guy who said this:

"So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light — and I think you said that that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way, and I think you said you’re going to test that, too. It sounds interesting. And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that."

Although neither President caused the spread of COVID.....that award goes out to the Chinese Communist Party, a lot more people died of COVID on Biden's watch than Trump's. Trump initiated Operation Warp Speed. Biden tried to take credit for it. Biden's insane lock down policies did a tremendous amount of financial harm to this country and were completely unnecessary.

Trump can take credit for the Abraham Accords. Under Biden's watch...more wars in the Middle East, China threatening Taiwan every day, Ukraine War, etc. Does anyone remember when Obama said not to cross his line in the sand regarding chemical weapons in Syria? When it happened, Obama did nothing. That was the green light for our enemies to do what they wanted as they realized he was weak.

Wasn't it the Dems that tried to remove Trump from the ballot in Colorado, Maine, and another state? Doesn't sound very democratic to me. Wasn't it the Dems that essentially removed their primary-nominated candidate and installed a new Presidential candidate without a primary and thus preventing their voters from having a say? Doesn't sound very democratic to me.

Do you even know what fascism means?

Nope. That's ALL Kamala's running on I see right through your deflection and projection.

Be well.

It's amazing "I can't stand identity politics" is held up as a priority over Democracy and peaceful transfer of power.

Tells me all I need to know.

Not to mention that a university did a study of language used around the pandemic, and Trump himself, by far, was the biggest spreader of misinformation about COVID. He needlessly killed thousands of Americans through his carelessness. In fact, there was a site on Reddit I believe, that were documenting FB posts of Trumpsters who died or nearly died. They would post up to 20 screenshots of their fake news and then about how they were sick, and many refused treatment. There were people denying they were dying of COVID. It was very sad, and so preventable. A few had happy endings, where their relatives or friends got COVID shots.

+1 and you know the narrative if she loses will be it was a race thing. Personally, as an early Trump voter, I find her 1000x more competent than Tim Walz and pray she will be healthy throughout her term because the prospect of that guy in charge is terrifying.

I'm going to ask an earnest question as someone who looks for logic amidst the outrage. If you are NOT extreme maga and would feel ok if R's win, please tell me how it's going to be ok. I don't know how the average american child for example will be okay without public education. Or how people in extreme weather areas will be okay without the weather service. I'll probably be okay for now because I know how to look elsewhere for those resources--maybe follow some meteorologists on threads or something. I live in a strong community that cares about education, so I imagine my kids will be fine and our community will find a way to support their schools. But I do worry about the state of the country if basic programs we have come to rely on and take for granted are decimated--my being okay doesn't translate to a great lived experience if the majority of people are flailing. Also: if the R's win, will the system be rigged toward extreme maga for the rest of my life? And how is that supposed to be ok, when a functioning democracy has robust perspectives from all sides of the aisle? I ask from a childlike standpoint, as someone who truly aims to see valid points on both sides of an issue.
