What was breakfast today?

Broccoli and cheese omelette. Coffee.

My kid is currently into egg in toast with cheese…. Where I use a cookie cutter to cut hole in WG toast. Then pour egg in hole. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake for 7-8 minutes. She’s had it 3 days in a row now…. With tomatoes and a glass of orange/peach/mango juice.

A bowl of Great Grains and milk. I never eat cereal or drink milk, but my body must be needing the calcium or something because I was craving it.

Black tea. And a bowl with warm chopped apples baked with cinnamon and dates, plain greek yogurt, and walnuts.

Oatmeal. I notice it's good for my digestion.

I had an enormous muffin from a good bakery and now I want a nap.

But that muffin was delicious. As long as no one catches me nodding out, I regret nothing.

"Love the last two. Everyone else is so sanctimonious."

"The only true post here."

"I feel like half of these answers are aspirational."

"Insufferable and all that."

Who is the curmudgeon who needs to learn how easy most breakfast foods are? Aside from the poster who was on an island in the Mediterranean, nothing on this list is unattainably difficult or even particularly time-consuming.

A good breakfast is an act of self-care. Beyond just the "most important meal of the day" bit, it gives you something happymaking in the first part of your day, and can set the tone for a better day. Not just because you're fueled (which also helps), but because you're pleased. Breakfast is love, y'all.
