Remove GFR. Start strong at young ages and then everyone leaves. 2014s are dropping off. Lost three strongest players in Fall. Same for 2013s.
Why are people jumping ship?
For better pathways, if your kid’s team is on the way to ECNL, you better watch out for those strong players from GFR.
If your kid is not getting better, those kids will take your kid’s spot. Better tell your cocky first-team kid to watch out!
Watched it happen twice this summer. Sucks for kids who used to be starters that now ride the bench.
It sucks for the kids but some of that falls on the parents that got complacent and didn't give their kids training opportunities outside of the club. Anyone who thinks just showing up to practices, games, scoring a few goals here and there thinking they are owed a spot are just delusional.

This is the same in Pre-GA also. There is a big difference in kids who just do the team practices and games vs the girls who work hard outside of team practices too. We’ve seen 5-6 girls get displaced by much better players who do a ton of supplemental training. We’re seeing big fast kids loosing sports to skilled players who work hard outside of practice.
We also left a club w a terrible pre ECNL RL team. None of those kids were doing outside of club work, it would be hard for any other to make ECNL or GA without 6-8 months of additional training.
