Vance on tape bashing childless teachers, says they "brainwash & destroy the minds of children". What is wrong with him?

Yes, because the idea is to close public schools and homeschool.

And they'll close the public libraries too.

I believe that there has been a shift in reading materials for children over the last decade or two. I believe a lot of parents, who are more conservative than the schools, are deeply upset about it. These are the real “culture wars” that we hear about. The Karens vote.

No one is talking about climate change family finances or other long term issues much. It’s books and protecting grade schoolers now. Religious stuff. The shift is happening and Vance is seizing on the malcontent.

We’ll see if there are enough marginalized grumpy voters for him. But they are real, agree or disagree.

You’re describing 2022. I haven’t seen anywhere near as much of the book banning since then. Family finances are the number one issue in this election and culture wars in schools are very far down the list. DeSantis’s slate of Moms for Liberty candidates just lost.

Libraries are being attacked in 2024. It has not gone away.

This poor woman clearly looks uncomfortable and asks several times not to be on their film, which of course they ignore her request when her face is made visible in this embarrassing video of Vance being unable to connect with regular Americans.

Is this the best video his campaign could find of Vance in the wild? It makes him look like he can't wait to get away from normal every day people.

The only teachers I know who can afford to continue to be teachers are childless.

I know many teachers who have children, but they are typically the second income in the household, not the primary. And there are many teachers who remain teaching because they get perks fo their kids. Like I know several teachers at a local charter school, because they are allowed to enroll their children without going through the lottery. Or one teacher who lives in an area zoned for a weaker school, but works in one of the top schools of the school district and she is allowed to enroll her kids in her school. I know at least 5-6 families like this in our local area.

That said, the first PP was correct that there is no chance that all teachers are parents. Most schools have mixed family teachers on staff with somewhere around the 40-60 break for both parental and childfree staff.

I actually prefer my elementary children. Don't have teachers who have kids because in my experience some of them are burned out, being moms and then being with kids all day.... It's a hard ass job and I respect the hell out of it.... Some of the best ones were older teachers whose children were no longer living at home or young teachers who were not married or have kids yet.

True, I know several with partners who are the primary breadwinners.

Vance's concern about women's fertility, reproductive status, menstruation, etc. is beyond creepy.

I’m just saying that the mom and dad for for school-age children mom and dad vote is a constituency. It’s real. I think they feel these issues strongly. Schools are overcrowded.

On a separate note, think a tougher drug policy would appease this parent group. Personal anecdotes: I went to coffee with a group. Actually, a “tony” group of people. Everyone knew someone who overdosed and either died or nearly died. I was so surprised bc we went around the table. Synthetic drugs are also a threat. Parents care about this. I’d like to see that discussed. That would help Dems

And his disdain for women is once again on display. Seriously, this guy just doesn't get it. Insulting a woman by comparing her to another woman who has been mercilessly mocked for lack of intelligence is just...weird. And insulting to ALL women. But these Republicans just don't get it. They don't realize that saying nasty things about women is going to alienate voters who happen to be...women. Hello, Republicans. Women make up more than 50% of voters.

There was this teacher bragging about a quarter of her class is trans, I think it was elementary school. Odds are that was from this teacher pushing this on students.

Brahmins like his wife, who clearly wears the pants in their house, despise normal every day peasants. And have no qualms about making that perfectly clear to lower status people on their orbit. Usha has rubbed off on the Ohio hick.

SNL has a skit based on this where the lawyers are former beauty queens. It’s a must watch. The “judge” is delighted.

But I digress. SNL is as left as they come. They made fun of this too. It’s hilarious. This circulation is funny too.

Even Republicans have arrived at the notion that JD Vance is the worst VP pick - ever.

Having him a heartbeat away from the presidency is downright scary.
