| The girls at Yorktown are incredible at all sports. I’ve witnessed girls zoned for YHS moved to a local private school so they can participate at a varsity level. Especially soccer. |
| Arlington Youth Soccer has been a powerhouse for a long time, but now the youth lacrosse program and recent youth field hockey program are feeding Yorktown and W&L with a lot of very experienced players that didn't exist years ago. |
They beat a team that had no business in the Regional bracket (they had an all in regional that year) and dropped their varsity program (at least for awhile) after that. The mercy rule doesn’t kick in u til after 3d quarter. That coach pulled all the starters or moved them around. They had 3d string players in. Short of just passing the ball back and forth -which would have been humiliating imo- they still had to play. That coach did everything she should have in that situation. With her starters they would have scored way more than 25. As for the time- most of the current team was likely not around at that time. |
Exactly. Same girls, and their crazy folks, that realize they’ll never sniff the field, or even make a squad, at AYS and Yorktown, move to lesser clubs and less competitive, mostly local private, high schools to ensure their Angel can play something. |
Then they go on to play at top academic DIII schools, which is the outcome they were looking for. |
You think so??? |

Does anyone have an idea of when the All State teams will be posted?

First congrats to Yorktown on another epic season. Girls sports have been winning states at Yorktown for many decades, and now with hundreds more students per grade, but the same number of spots, it’s becoming even more competitive to make teams. For rising 9th graders, before decamping to private, there are other options however, namely transferring to W-L for IB, or Wakefield for Language Immersion. |
Yes. Don’t be so negative. |

| I believe it’s been the first week in December in the past |
It’s posted. |
