Fairfax seems to be leading the Patriot. They've been doing pretty well, knocking off some top ranked teams in VA and in PA. What happened to Robinson in that District? They used to be a powerhouse.
And Lake Braddock is the dark horse to watch in my view.

Westfields is on an upswing too. Marshall looks solid.

I’ve been to every one of their games and not witnessed anything like what you’re describing. (Clearly my kid is on the team).

Madison stomped on Centreville even with Cville ‘s “best” player back from an injury. Oakton’s is rolling through the district as usual. Westfield is pretty good too this year

Not sure why "best" is in quotes. She is. And if she's back, she's likely not 100%.

But agree that Madison, Oakton, and Westfield are all having good years.

Sometimes the ”best” of the worst is still not good. Just saying. Centreville won’t win a game in district with or without her. Coaching there is a big problem too. On the other hand, Westfield’s new coach seems to have sharpened her players. Oakton’s coach knows how to win. Not sure about Madison’s coach but they always seem to have a strong program.

You forgot South Lakes and Chantilly. Both are really really bad this year too.

That’s really strange, and if true, definitely not representative of Arlington at all. All the Arlington high schools have recently won the VHSL Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity Award. Arlington athletes in general have a long tradition of good sportsmanship and fair play.

We played W&L a few weeks ago and they played VERY rough. Lots of fouls, running over and through people. They're athletic, I'll give you that, but the "field hockey" wasn't really present. Just a lot of barreling through opponents.

I know the longtime coach retired after many years last year. So maybe it’s partly due to that.

Thank you for telling me what I saw. LOL. I'm "used to" a lot of FH, actually, at the collegiate and HS level. My child has been playing a very long time. So, I'm aware of how physical it can be. Except, however, when physical overshadows skill it's not FH and that is my assessment, regardless if you agree or not.
