Once again, money and class are different things.

I remember being so shocked. I’m Italian. We dip. Apparently, Ill bred

Are you a real Italian as in born and raised there or from Philly? Because there's a huge difference. And the Italian uperclasses aren't dipping anything either.

My father-in-law is from 30 minutes outside of Rome and dips things all the time.
So poor breeding. Got it.

So long as you're not biting into that French toast with overbleached teeth you're good, OP. Overly white teeth are a sign of middle-class insecurity. It's almost as bad as admitting what community college you attended.

Are there any other DCUM-ers who descend from peasants, who have not nor will inherit anything, who may be successful but still have to work for a living, and who DGAF about seeming "well-bred"? I mean if someone judges me for my prole "tells", then... OK. I'm a prole. Who cares?

Asking to split the check in restaurants instead of paying.

We are all peasants here, pretending to be posh. Why would a billionare hang around here? They have nothing in common with us.

Also, peasants could have being brought up right. Plenty of rich jerks are entitled and disgusting.

Oh well, I was raised well off and enjoy ordering things at restaurants that I can’t make or would not indulge in at home. You know, like tuna tartare, pasta with truffles, Roman thin crust pizzas, beef bourbignon, sushi, an exquisite dish or piece of steak etc.

I think the real difference between “good breeding” or not is being a good person and not obsessing over what other people perceive as “good breeding.” But to each their own.
